How about the Jags pick up Kenny Phillips with #26.

Then trade with ATL in the second round (#37-530 pts) and give them our #58 (320 pts) and #71 (235 pts) and pick up Quentin Groves.

That would leave us with...

#26- Kenny Phillips, S, UM

#37- Quentin Groves, DE, Auburn

Then our next pick would be #89...etc

I would be happy with that. But I know nothing about the draft/college players. I just know we need a better pass rush and Sens might need some help or support at safety.

The Texans very well might take Phillips at #18.

That would be nice, but I think Philly or Houston will take Phillips.  If they don't, he may drop to us.  And Groves probably won't make it out of the 1st round now.  But your idea is good, if it could some how happen.

I could see us landing Phillips, but I don't think Groves leaves the first round.

The news broke the other day about Groves having minor heart surgery.  He was a borderline 1st round guy to begin with.  I doubt he goes 1st round now.  So much of scouting is finding reasons to NOT take certain players.  Now teams have it.

I'd be surprised. I think they'll go corner or tackle. Maybe Chris Williams or Mike Jenkins.

Well, in my mock those two are already gone, as is Otah, McKelvin, Cromartie and Mendenhall. The guys I was considering for Houston are Kenny Phillips, Jonathan Stewart, Antoine Cason, Aqib Talib, Ray Rice and Felix Jones. Basically I'm looking at the best remaining DBs and RBs. I'm leaning towards Stewart over Phillips, but there's concern over a turf toe surgery that the RB recently underwent.

I think both Phillips and Brohm will end up drafted sooner than most mocks have them going currently and it would not surprise me if both where gone well before the Jags pick.

maize n blue,    back in Joey Harrington's rookie season ( 2002 ),   he had corrective heart surgery involving the same type of condition that Quentin Groves has.     Since that time,  Harrington has been extremely durable.     Though I'm far from a medical expert,    my guess is the surgery that Groves had will enable him to function normally.     If Groves didn't have the surgery,   he probably would have had to stop playing football.

A sidenote:   Virginia TE Jonathan Stupar,  who is draft eligible in 2008,   also had corrective surgery for this Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome condition.    Since having the surgery,  Stupar played 3 seasons at UVA.
