Jaxson Deville. Seriously, who else has given such fits to the likes of Bill Cowher and Bill Polian? Dude has mad skills. That's because he's an ex-Hokie. The Mad Skills major is being utilized more and more by outstanding Hokie students.

| jagabc6893 (4/8/2008) Last year somebody started a thread asking people who they thought was the "face of the franchise". Fred Taylor, Marcus Stroud (at that time), John Henderson, Maurice Jones-Drew, even Jack Del Rio? Several names were batted around, with David Garrard barely being mentioned. Well after signing a $60 million contract and once again showing how classy he is, there is not much doubt who the "Face of the Jaguars" is now. Thoughts?
Paul Spicer. Listen to his radio show, he's what this team is all about. |

| | In the world of NFL football it's Maurice Jones-Drew. He's the one getting the national advertising exposure and the highlight reels on ESPN. Even though Fred and David have captured local attention, it's MJD who has captured the interest nationwide. Regards...............the Chiefjag

| Is this question based on the dollar figure of Garrard's contract?
So when Henderson and Stroud were the two highest paid Jaguars up until last week were they the face of the Jaguars?
I'd say that the guy coming off the Pro Bowl season, the one in all of the local ads, the one looking down the barrel of a possible Hall Of Fame selection might be the obvious choice.
But then again, I'm not trying to pointlessly grind the Leftwich axe.

| In the media's eyes? MJD. Fred's it in my mind, but I agree that it's David's team after he moves on.
No matter who the face of the franchise is, this is Jack's team and he will have them ready to play some ball this Fall!!! =]

| | It's Garrard. It's always the QB. He who gets the glory, also gets the blame. He stated in his presser that he wants to help put Jacksonville on the map while also saying that he doesn't want the spotlight. He's done some local TV ads but needs to get out there nationally as well. Getting it done on the field is not enough to bring Jax to the forefront. This is what it is. If he wanted to be "the man", then being out there is a part of it. Football comes first but look at Big Ben, Peyton and others. They kick tail on the field and do TV, radio and other stuff too. |

| Face of the franchise is determined through the eye of the beholder. In the media's eyes, it's MJD. In the new fanbase's eyes, it's most likely Garrard and/or MJD. In the NFL's eyes, it's Garrard. In the long-time fans' eyes, it's most likely Freddy.

| The Real face of the Franchise should be the Fans Selling out "The Jack" every home game to the point where the Tarps can be removed and stay off. THAT would be a successful face of the Franchise
