| Sorry about the painful typo in the subject line, my fingers work faster than my brain sometimes.
[EDIT]: And the double text too, not sure how that happened....
Not to start another Jason Taylor thread, but I didn't see this article posted anywhere else.
The Miami Herald says that the Jaguars offered a third round pick for Jason Taylor.
Even the Jaguars -- who appear at this point to be the team with the most interest in Taylor -- are believed to be willing to give up only a third-round pick. The Dolphins likely would only take a first-round choice or an early second-rounder for him.
Of course, the rest of the article is about how Head Coach Tony Soparano wants Taylor on the Dolphins next season, so who knows what the real deal is.
I offer some analysis and a few draft pick trade speculations with the issue over at Big Cat Country.

| | I could live with giving up a 3rd. I wish we would have offered a 4th instead so we could negotiate to a 3rd, but maybe we can stand strong. I would love it if we could just give up our 3rd (from Buffalo) and still keep our 1st, 2nd, and other 3rd round pick. If Miami won't go any lower than a 2nd, I say we pass. Something will happen between now and April 27th...that's for sure.

| I heard a guy call in today on 930 and he made an interesting suggestion. He said we should give miami our first and third and miami give us taylor and their second round pick. There second round pick is only six back from our first round pick and miami would get two good first rounders and we would have two seconds one 3rd and two 5's. I thought it was a great idea and if the Dolphins went for it i think it would be win win all the way around,.

| Wow, my first thought was "no way", but the more I think about it, the less I dislike the idea. We'd lose out on a guy like Calais Campbell, but someone like Trevor Laws would fall into our lap. The team would even save a little cash.
Besides, we're great with second round picks.
I like it.

| Or, Trade our first, 3rd, and 5th for Miami's 09 1st, and Taylor

| | I wouldn't mind trading our first for their second and taylor. You can get a stud in Lawerence Jackson and Jason Taylor who has a few good years left. |
