Yeah, it sucks, but I can name 20 plays where the Jags lost because of a missed hold or other call. The human element of officiating is part of the game.

Exactly.

I recall one play where the tacks beat the Jaguars primarily because of a huge key run by Steve McNair. However, on replay you could clearly see one of the most blatant holds ever by a tack OL. A jaguars would have easily caught McNair for a short gain, but he was clearly held springing McNair for the huge run. If only that one play were called correctly, the Jaguars win that game.

But what can we do? It's over and done with.

When I think of that game, I think of the last " THIRD AND DUMB " call for big Ben to run on.

It's still funny to hear people think that play is the one that won the game. If anything, it was owed because they missed the obvious face mask on Hines Ward which resulted in a touchdown for the Steelers.

The STeelers lost because their coaching staff couldn't handle it.

BUMP- I remember how the pitt fans complained and some ****y pitt player complained to the media after the game.  Seriously, you want the league to review holding calls now??  I will assume its Barnes we are talking about right?

I just read this yesterday, then the board crashed so i couldn't post.  I have zero respect for the steelers and their fanbase now.  THAT WAS NEVER GONNA GET CALLED.  I SAW THE PLAY AND THEY WANT THAT?????????   .5 SECONDS OF HOLDING?????  BARNES HAS 2 HANDS IN THE GUYS BREADBASKET, BOTH HE AND HARRISON ENGAGE THEN FORWARD A STEP- BARNES RELEASED AS HE SHOULD.  THERE IS A MARGIN THE REFEREES SHOULD AND WILL ALLOW!!!

by the rule of the law of holding, sure, there was technically holding.  does that mkae the pitt crybabies feel better?  We would have gotten 4th and 7 instead- what's the big difference????  I promise you will never see THAT kind of holding called in an NFL game, ever!

How pathetic to go back to the tape and beg for apologies about a questionable holding call?????  Don't even let me look at ignored/missed holding calls.  There are enough blatant missed other calls, the Khalif Barnes holding is so subjective and split second- how pathetic pittsburg!!  Here s the best slow mo multi angle link

Cry me a river!

EVERYONE knows there's bad calls during a game.  They're just pissed that we beat them in their house twice and that Garrard's run is highlight material.

REF SHOULD HAVE FLAGGED GARRARD RUN

Yes I agree, Refs should carry a checkered NASCAR style flag in their pockets to throw when a historic and memorible play occurs.

To the best of my recollection Pittsburg benefitted from uncalled penalties in that game more than Jacksonville and it wasn't just the Hines Ward play in the end zone. Seems like I recall atleast one other play that Pittsburg could have been called for offensive pass interference and atleast two blatant holding calls on running plays that were not called.

Hines Ward is always grabbing some defender's jersey and not getting called for it. He's the only guy I have ever seen in the NFL who can consistently do it and get away with it.

An article saying the refs missed a call................

Without saying what the call was!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HILARIOUS!!

Was it Casey Hampton pancaking himself?

Was it Harrison taking himself out of the play, making Khalif jobs pretty easy?

Seriously, they say he "ADMITTED it" without saying what was missed?

PLEASE.

It doesn't get any more flagrant then Hines Ward grabbing the facemask and shoving the defender into his stomach inorder to receive an automatic first down. The chain swings both ways, we can view a replay of anything and probably find some sort of hold, face mask, chop block, illegal use of the hands, taunting, or something else. It's called letting them play when it's on the line. I don't know, neither of us really made it passed that game anyway. We had the better chance against NE. There was a lot of extra activity at the end of some plays we can point out on a replay during that game. People were getting their legs twisted and even punched in the head with a no call. They were just letting our teams rough house all night. There just weren't many calls that entire game.

I totally agree.  That was blatant whereas the hold was more of a common every down indescreet hold.  As they say, you can call holding on every play.
