1.Chargers
2.Colts
3.Jaguars
4.Patriots
5.Steelers
6.Giants
7.Cowboys
8.Seahawks
9.Browns
10.Titans

No way Chargers should be #1. Titans no where near #10. Browns will probably be 2-3 wins better than Steelers this year.

1. Patriots
2. Colts
3.Cowboys
4.Jaguars
5. Giants
6. Chargers
7. Browns
8. Steelers
9. Sehawks
10. Packers

I am a ceritfiedhomer, but I can't put the Jags any higher than 4th. After the draft that may change. I think the Packers will still be pretty good without Favre, so they get the last spot.

i understand that rivers isnt the best quarterback, but i just think overall the chargers have the most solid team, besides QB what is a weak point on their team? and rivers isnt even a weak quarterback, just inconsistent

same goes for titans, i hate young but he is a good athlete, i think he would be a better tight end because of his size and athleticism...titans have a scary defense

and i think the seahawks are a solid team as well, maybe sean alexander can get healthy and return to mvp form

In case anyone needs a clue.
Pick a number between 1 and 100, Add 52, Now subtract 7, Add 4, Subtract 13, Subtract the number you started with, Divide by 2, Add 7, Multiply by 4 then subtract 9 ... Viola there's your clue.
Sam

Priceless.

Top Five:

1. San Diego-I don't like them at all, but I have a newfound respect for them when it comes to playing against us.  We haven't beaten them since 2004, and that required a comeback.  They are very set for the future.

2. Indianapolis-5-1 record inside division (in it's toughest year), 13-3 record, and first-round playoff bye after winning the Super Bowl speaks for itself.  Will return with all but one starter in 2008.  If Dwight Freeney returns to pre-injury form, they'll be even better.  The team is very young and consistent.  11 of 22 starters haven't eclipsed five years of NFL experience.  New stadium opening up in September.  Very, very tough set of opponents.  Record might not show how good they actually are.

3. New England-Schedule will allow them twelve wins, at least...We won't know how good they are until January.

4. Dallas-They've got a pass rush and a pretty good offense.  That's what it takes.  Loss to Giants was a fluke.  I think this will be a team that rebounds similar to what the Colts did in 2006 after the game against the Steelers.

5. New York Giants-They've got a strong pass rush and Eli Manning has a ring.  I don't think they'll be as good as they were at the end of last season, but we'll see.  A lot of pressure, to which they played under, will be taken off heading into this season.  They won the Super Bowl.  They have to be in the top five.

To the guy who put the colts at 2= laughable and put the jags at 6= homerism and also laughable.

1- we destroyed the chargers

2-and the rest of the NFL disagrees with you about the jags, most recently the rankings on NFL Network.

3-Jags at 6th, so we regressed?

If you're referring to me, I didn't say that the Jaguars regressed (who's to say that they weren't any better than that last year?), nor did I say that they were bad.  The fact is that the Colts beat the Jaguars twice last season.  You have to respect them for that.  If not, then we see who the real homer is.  Using your logic of "destroying" the Chargers (by a whole seven points), we destroyed the Jaguars.

And again, we will return with all but one starter on a team that did just that.

I don't think the Jaguars could keep up with Dallas' offense, at least looking at it right now (we haven't seen that happen...I give Dallas the edge because of there offense and pass rush).  The Giants are the Super Bowl champions.  They get a spot in the top five by default (and they have a pass rush, something the Jaguars don't have).  The Jaguars had a shot to beat New England (up 7-0) in the postseason and didn't.  New England has a pass rush.  The only thing questionable about this is the Chargers.  I think the Chargers could definitely beat the Colts (something the Jaguars didn't do) and they played New England pretty tough in the championship game.  But again...They have something that the Jaguars don't have at this point in time: a consistent pass rush.

The sooner you come to realize that reality, the better off you'll be.

I don't need NFL Network to validate my opinion, or use it as a measuring stick.

Lastly, I've noticed that you haven't put up your own set of rankings.

I love how everyone is jumping on the Browns jock but I don't see them being the next great thing everyone is thinking they will be.

Derek Anderson came down to earth towards the end of last year and ended with a rather mediocre 82.5 passer rating by the end of the year (17th in the league.)  Jamal Lewis put together a nice comback last year but the two years before that he averaged well under 4 ypc with a pretty decent Ravens team.

They scored a lot of points last year but were 21st in points against and a miserable 30th in yards allowed.  All this coupled with a lack of first round pick this year doesn't look promising if you ask me.

I predict they go 8-8 or worse in 2008.  My power rankings:

1. Patriots - We are talking regular season at this point and they are still looking pretty good.  They also have the 7th pick in the draft so I don't see them taking any major steps back.

2. Colts - They have to fall a step at some point but they continue to show up and win games.  Until they stop doing that it's hard to not put them near the top.

3. Jaguars - Made large strides last year and mixed it up in free agency to fill some holes.  A good draft could put us over the top and ahead of the Colts and Pats.

4. Cowboys - A case could be made for them to be ahead of the Jags but I'm just not sold on NFC teams still.  2 first round picks and a solid core should be enough to put them over the top in the NFC.

5. Chargers - Lots of talent in lots of places but something always seems to go wrong.  I could be wrong but it doesn't seem like they play as a team and egos seem to get in the way of the greater goal.  Could be a major contender however in a weak AFC west.

6. Giants - Amazing playoff run but I don't see them emerging as any sort of NFL powerhouse.  Get to the playoffs year in and year out eventually you will get the hot hand and win it all.  They obviously subscribe and perfected this theory.

7. Pittsburgh - Great QB and RB.  Both lines have some big holes to address and I'm not sure they will be a major force but may still win the AFC north.

8. Seattle - Weakest division in the NFL.  The defense is also pretty solid and Hasselback is good enough to win them their share of ball games.

9. Green Bay - This one all rides on Aaron Rodgers.  He has had the best grooming you could ask for in this business, its all on him now.  I really like their defense and their lines on both sides of the ball seem to be pretty strong.  If Rodgers can protect the ball and throw with some success this team should be strong in a still mediocre NFC north.

10. This spot could go to a number of teams that give or take a tough win here or there could be in or out of the playoff picture.  Eagles/Titans/Texans/Browns/Denver/Minnesota etc.   I think I actually might put the Eagles of Texans here.  I see both teams improving on last years mediocrity and competing for playoff spots.  Both have been building well on the defensive side and both will hinge on the QB's being healthy and their primary targets (Johnson, Westbrook) being healthy to make a push.  Like I said earlier though, this spot could go to any number of teams.

My power rankings may be different then a lot on here so lets see how much criticism I'm going to get...

1. Jacksonville Jaguars - To me, we are the team to beat, I just don't see us not winning it all, we will win our Division, Conference, and Superbowl.

2. New England Patriots - Simply put, Brady is a great QB and has way too many options. Defense still solid and running game is fine, will win AFC East.

3. Indianapolis Colts - Always a tough team, and I don't see them slowing down much at all. Depending on how Harrison and Wayne hold up, I can see them having a good chance, but will get in as a wild card.

4. Minnesota Vikings - This team is my underdog team of the 2008 season, and I see them as my favorite to make a Superbowl run from the NFC this year. Will win their division.

5. Dallas Cowboys - This team is loaded, but mistakes after mistakes cause this team to fall short two years straight. If they can get their heads together I can definitely see them in the Superbowl. They need to get Pacman! Will win their division.

6. Cleveland Browns - Laugh it up, but this team in my eyes is an offensive juggernaut with Stallworth, Winslow, Edwards, and Anderson, with Lewis in the backfield. Key additions on defense, I would not be surprised to see this team win the AFC North division.

7. Pittsburgh Steelers - They are a steady team and they have high caliber players. I just don't see them not making the playoffs because they are such a tough team. They will get in the playoffs with the final wild card spot.

8. San Diego Chargers - With a weak division, I see them getting in the playoffs by winning their division. The only spoiler in their division I see is if Oakland can get Jamarcus in and draft Mcfadden, they had great offseason moves so lets see.

9. Arizona Cardinals - I've always liked this team and with St Louis, Seattle, and 49ers on a decline, this is their year to step up and take control of that division. I have them winning their division.

10. New York Giants - I really do not see them repeating their performance, and quite frankly not even making it past wild card weekend this year. They will get a wild card berth but lose quickly.

I'm in Cincy this week!! Jaguars time!!

Record: 3-4

Why should we be ranked higher? Seattle made it just as far as we did last season. We didn't beat Indy once last year. I didn't put the Chargers ahead of the Jags. Give me a serious non-homer reason to move the Jaguars ahead of the Patriots, Colts, Giants, Cowboys, and Seahawks.

Because the seahawks made it just as far as us, In the NFC.... We would be in the NFCCG Every Year because of how weak the teams are over there. If the Seahawks were in our division they wouldn't win 7 games.

This is my Power Ranking.

1. Colts (They havent lost anyone important and with a Guy like Polian you are almost certain they will get quality players in the Darft, And they are Always tough to beat....)

2. Jags (We are looking really good, If Porter and Walker are who we think they are, and we get a good DE through trade or Darft, We will be the best team)

3. P*ts (As long as they have Brady back there, They are a threat, Oh and they cheat)

4. Giants (Kept their D-coordinator, Great Depth at DE, Pretty good Offense, But it All depends on Manning)

5. Chargers (God they are overrated, But I couldn't bring myself to put any of the other teams ahead of them)

6. Cowboys (Ugh.... Cowboys..... Wont make it anywhere with Mr. Choke Romo)

7. Browns (They should take their division this season, Good Offense, Defense improved in FA, But no first day picks, and no 3rd rounders either i think.. Not too good for them)

8. Buccaneers (Pretty Tough defense, And they lost So many RB's last season, Pretty Good WR's, I expect them to win their division.)

9. Texans (Lots of Young talent, Believe they will take the Titans 3rd place in AFC south this season, Should make it in as a wildcard team)

10. Bills (Marshawn Lynch and Trent Edwards are 2 pretty darn good young players. I think they will just miss the playoffs, But are still an up and coming team)

Do you honestly believe the Seahawks would beat the Jags?  Absurd.
