I know that this sounds farfetched, but let's face it, MJD is just one of those guys that the media likes to salivate over.  He is a highlight reel type player with an in your face attitude, and in this popularity contest type of a league, one player is all you sometimes need to get a team attention.  Sure we have a strong team that should continue to rise, and sure we have many other strong players, but let's face it, compared to some of our other great players, the league sees MJD as being more marketable.

So what do you think?  Does the arrival of MJD coincide with the increase in the attention toward our team, or is MJD pretty well responsible for it?

I'm leaning towards 11-5 and 2 tough late season wins in Pitts.  Win games, have a good season, show up in the playoffs and suddenly the media cares.  Go figure.

Yeah MJD is our star player, like a Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, TO, or LT...Etc

Riding the Brian Witherspoon bandwagon.

VY is already a top 5 QB in this league. He just wins games. And no need for Fred Taylor or MJD we have Chris Henry... he will be better then both of them after this year. Just like Vince Young was last year. BOOK IT.

Are you kidding? Everyone knows that Adam Podlesh is solely responsible for our new media glory.

Living in Oregon I'm often surrounded by people who have no clue what players are on the Jaguars. However, every now and then I'm asked, "don't they have some little RB on their team that's really good," or something to that effect. Even casual fans have heard of or at least seen Jones-Drew. I can't say the same about anyone else. When I mention Mathis, the typical response is that they've heard of the name but couldn't say what position he plays. That's pretty much all I get from the casual football fan in Oregon, although I can now say that most everyone out here has heard of Jerry Porter.

Everyone here in Denver knows who Maurice Drew and Fred Taylor are

Jagwired'd is to moderators as a wrongfully accused killer is to the court of law.

I show off my anger after Jags losses. I can't help myself.

I'd have to agree that MJD is the current face (at least nationally) of Jaguar football and alot of people also know of FT, but you want to know who is fast becoming the face of the franchise...DG.  If he improves on last season he will become a household name.  I can't tell you how many people I talk to out of state who rave on the guy and not only think he is on the verge of becoming a great QB, but also a great person.  I think alot of that is coming from the pregame story done on him & his wife before the Pats game.  He is a very likeable guy.  He's the kind of guy people root for even if they are not a fan of the team. I'd say by the end of 2008 he will be the face of the franchise.

I think every football fan knows who Fred Taylor is, but as far as our "national known player" its Mo-Jo.  But I'd have to say the face of our Franchise is David G.  Once he signs his contract he will be the highest paid player in Jag History.

I still love Morten Anderson!

Where's all the love for Big John Henderson? Now there's a face only a mother and a Jag fan could love. He gets my vote.

MJD is in large part the face of the Jags nationally due to Fantasy Football and the ads he did on ESPN.
