Regarding Ballou and McManus splitting up. I think those two are some of the better they have on the station. They just, imo, wanted those two split up. A ratings move I think.

I cant stand frangie, I'm not a gator homer, college football fan, steeler fan, or baseball fan.
So Mr. Frangie has no value to me as a listener.

I wish Dempsey would move to a different time slot use Arlie and Hacker for his side kicks.

we had this debate earlier about which college has more fans in jax. personally i dont think there are that many more fsu fans than uga fans. others disagreed wholeheartedly.UGA does have a huge alumni base here so I dont think my opinion is a stretch. there could be lots of reasons and could just be a big coincidence, but I knew WAY more UGA fans in jax than FSU ones.

and when it comes to the U, I dont think there are very many oftheir fans at all.[/quote]

Too bad that 105.3 has crappy reception in Clay County.

Still stuck using the "high powered" 1010AM channel instead.

And before I get poopooed for having a bad radio, this is because there is a 105.3 channel in Gainseville that overrides the one from Fernandina Beach.

having a show on FM seems so obvious. was always under the impression that the FM dial gets so much more attention from listeners. guess it wont matter for me now that ill be a internet listener for at least the next year.

too bad about McManus. I thought he was TONS better when teamed up with Ballou. and even still when Ballou is out of studio, McManus doesnt seem to be able to steer the ship by himself. I think he'll suffer without another host. im assuming he'll have hacker or someone to make fun of.

Norvelle and Arley is gonna be terrible. no offense but Arley needs some work. he needs to take a stand. seems like every opinion he has he follows it up with "...but maybe others disagree and I totally get that!" and dont we have enough Boston people!? do they really need 6 straight hours of Boston homers!? goodness gracious!

Frankly I think Norvelle has found the perfect home with Gators and more. its on late, he has a partner thats just like him, and they can talk about the Gators the whole time. which is perfect for Norvelle. makes me wonder whats gonna happen for that show now though. is Norvelle gonna do double duty? 10-1 and 7-9 every single day? or will Gators and More get a new co-host?

speaking of gators and more, does anyone else understand the schedule on the link provided? so that show is 7-9 every night on FM. but once a week on thur, theyll stay an extra hour but switch to AM? seems kinda odd.

frangie and dempsey keeps getting worse and worse. they need to get rid of both of them.

Good news for AM stations switching over. Orlando has an all talk/all day radio station and I listened to that station more than any other.

I know alot of people here dont like some of the sports talk show personalities, but its far and away better than Orlando. I rarely listened to sports there...then again they never talked Jags football and thats the reason I really like the ones here.

Interesting announcement this morning from 1010XL, the newest all sports radio station in town. They're growing, which is a good thing for the market.

Starting Monday, August 4th, 1010xl will be on the AM and FM dial as they begin broadcasting on 105.3 FM.

Along with the expansion to the other side of the dial, they're also going to be shuffling the lineup a bit, giving both sides at least one unique show for people to choose from.

Sports Final Radio will continue on in its current format without any changes, broadcasting on both stations.

At 10:00, the Arley Hour will be replaced on the AM dial by a FOOTBALL focused show hosted by Tom McManus from 10:00 - 1:00, while on the FM side, Arley will join up with co-host Terry Norvelle to host what I'm sure will be yet another unlistenable show involving Norvelle.

From 1:00 - 4:00, Rick Ballou will have his own show on both stations.

From 4:00 - 7:00, Franks & Beans will continue on with their afternoon drive show.

Paul Spicer will move to Tuesdays from 10:00 - 12:00 during the season, hosting a show with Tom McManus during the day.

Maurice Jones-Drew will also be back. His show I believe will be on Thursday evenings at 6:00.

1010XL is also going to be the new Jacksonville affiliate for the Georgia Bulldogs and Bishop Kenny Crusaders on the FM side.

On the AM dial, they will also have a game of the week for one of the local high school programs.
