They have the most channels in HD, have the BEST sports package, that give you foxsports channels and comcast sport net channels from regions around the country.

Do NOT sweat the weather thing. This is something the cable junkies tell you, just to get you worked up.

Oh, yeah, that Superfan package? It's the best thing since the invention of the wheel.

DTV is the best thing to hit my HDTV in along time. Loyal customer since 05.

RE: Direct TV

Add me to the above list people with DirecTV. My experience with it mirrors theirs, even Nate's with the hurricanes. It was either Frances and Jeann, but the hurricane went right over the Tampa area on a Sunday that we were playing the Titans. Much to my suprise, I didn't lose the signal even once the entire game (the entire day, for that matter).

You do lose the signal on occasion, but to me, it's a minor inconveience. The NFL Sunday Ticket trumps all.

RE: Direct TV

I love my DirectTv and will never go back to God-forsaken cable.

They've always been helpful, offer great deals, and oh, yeah..............

SUNDAY TICKET WITH THE SUPERFAN PACKAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, my signal is rarely out.

Even during the hurricane scares of a few years ago, I did not miss a minute. I wa svery surprised. The interruptions have been rare since, and far better than the interruptions that at times took DAYS with cable, with no apologies.

Screw cable.

RE: Direct TV

I love my DirecTV. My signal has never been out more than 10 minutes. You'll be happy.

RE: Direct TV

I love DirecTV.. I will never go back to cable. Ever.

Yes, sometimes the signal goes out - but if you have a DVR and lots of your favorite shows recorded - what's it matter? And IF the signal goes out (very, very rarely) it'll only be down for a couple minutes.

In my year and a half experience with DirecTV it has gone out less than what cable did in the same time frame.

So yea.. no need to have buyers remorse. Just make sure there are no trees anywhere near your line of sight between the dish and the sky and you'll have no problems at all.

Direct TV

I just ordered Direct TV and it's due to be installed in August. I'm having a little buyers remorse and I need some reassurance. I gotta a couple of questions that only people who have Direct TV can answer. 1) How does the signal hold up to bad weather, do you loose signal during bad weather or does your signal strength get deteriorated? 2) Is the HDTV signal reliable?. I just moved to Mobile, AL and I have mediacom and it is the worst cable service I have ever had. I just hope I didn't trade one headache for another.
