They're such a strange organization. Sure, they suck. Sure, their veterans underperform. But, they always have the highest attendance. They always make the most money. Snyder makes his money back. The NFL is a business, and the owners feel the same way. As an owner, I guess the option is to decide if you want to make money or win championships--few do both.

The trade makes much more sense when you understand what you're saying here. Still though, a 2nd plus an additional pick is WAY too much for Taylor. The Jaguars did the right thing by not biting.

Sure, the Dolphins gets 2 future draft picks for it...but the Redskins lost 2 DE's:

[/quote]You hit the nail on the head.

The main reason for the Jags success compared to the Redskins is draft picks. We certainly haven't blazed a trail of glory with our first rounders, but through solid drafing overall, we have remained very competitive.

The Redskins, on the other hand, [i]always[/i] need to bring in pricey vets to shore up their spotty and aging roster. They do have plenty of recognizable names though.

Schnieder doesn't seem willing to go through the growing pains that precede success. So far, it hasn't worked well for him.

This was an excellent move for them.

And in that tough division a guy like Taylor will be very important to get after Romo, Manning and McNabb. And you know he will too.

I would have hated to have seen an AFC team other than the Dolphins get him. He used to have good games against the Colts and still has a lot left in the tank.

Leave it to Washington. I really honestly believe they hate draft picks. Either that or there is some kind of local golf event on draft day every year and they figure they can call it in if they trade away half their picks for over the hill one year players. Seriously though, I think we managed to dodge a 34y/o bullet by not bringing him in. I lost a lot of respect for the guys over at ESPN (national & 1010xl) who were hammering the Jags for not trading their 1st round pick for Taylor.
