Prisco thinks in terms of stats first. In my opinion, he undervalues a lot of players simply because they don't generate numbers that are found in the box score. That's why he ranked M. Williams, a Defensive Lineman, at #6 when he was a part of a Defense that allowed over 4 yards per rush, and 325 rushing first downs! That's averaging over 20 rushing first downs per game.

Who cares though right? He still generated 14 sacks even though he was a starter on the 19th ranked Rush Defense in the league, and Reggie Williams, a WR, makes it a point to handle him every chance he gets on a crack back block.

It's his list and he gets to make it up however he wants, even if it does look like something a UF fan would come up with.

RE: Top 50 Players in the NFL today

I thought of all these points to post about how bad that list is and then I just decided it wasn't worth it.

Allow me to quote some Jay-z:

"A wise man told me don't argue with fools,

'cuz people fom a distance can't tell who is who"

-That one's for you, Bluprint. I'd take A Johnson, TO, C Johnson, or Fitzgerald over him easily. Reggie Wayne would be debatable.

RE: Top 50 Players in the NFL today

IMO if you can beat someone up bad enough (Moss) that you completely take them out of their game, then how can they be a top 5 player?

RE: Top 50 Players in the NFL today

Urlacher doesn't even belong in the top 50.

RE: Top 50 Players in the NFL today
TheSpacePope (6/30/2008)
Wow.

That's a horrible list top to bottom and the just missed is even worse.

Now I have no respect for his credibility in writing about football.
:yeahthat:

How many times did he write something like;

"He was injured last year, which means he sucked... He might have been the league's best defensive player in the final eight weeks of 2007.

I like this ranking for Super Mario, because he is a beast.

49. Fred Taylor, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars: Taylor finally got his due last season with his first Pro Bowl appearance. At 32, he remains one of the biggest home-run threats in the league. His 5.4 per-carry average was second best among the league's best rushers to Peterson (5.6).
