If you can read.... peruse through this thread and see where we have acknowledged our mishaps early on. And nothing has happened on the field yet in 2008. If you really think the Texans are going to be an easy win this year or for the immediate years to come... then thats your opinion (based on little facts shown by you) and will be settled in the future. BTW.. I do think the Jags are the better team right now. But I feel the Texans are clearly on the way up (argument shown in this thread), and will be a force in the toughest division in football.[/quote]

No question the Texans are on the way up.. you cannot go anywhere but up really.. My whole point was with all the high draft picks, it is hard not to get better eventually.. especially after you build your defense around Mario and Ryans, and your offense has arguably a top 3 WR in the NFL in A. Johnson.

The Texans are never an easy win.. they bring their A game against us because of all of the ex-players that used to be on the team and some that still are.

My prediction is the Texans finish 3rd.. with the Titans finishing 4th.[/quote]

A level headed post. Nice. And as the case with Az, Det, us with the previous regime, etc.... just because you consistently pick high, doesnt guarantee anything. What does... or at least changes everything is having a good front office and coaching staff. Texans fans feel we have this in place now. This year we prove it. And yes, Titans in last place.

We played third stringers also and the game wasn't even close......get over yourself and that lame as.s excuse. This thread is about the personel moves the Texans have made......we are talking (well except you) about the personel moves the Texans have made. Many Texan fans have already acknowledged y'all should be favored next season so who the hell is "twisting and tangling" in here.

In order for the stadium capacity to population ratio to be the same your stadium would have to hold nearly 282,000. Ya'll would never watch a game on TV, so get over yourself. BTW, that's with the tarps on. Also, as a Jag fan I loved the moves the Texans made!

Actually it's waaaay too early to tell which teams made good moves or bad.

Anyway, how bout ya'll let the titans have the cellar this year. ;) Works for me.

Dude the Jason Babbin pick was a TRADE UP that cost us many other picks, we didn't just "have two 1st rounders", we got our butts kicked on the value chart, it was another dumb trade by Casserly, especially since Jason Babin was just another 1st round bust and the team he traded with was the freaking Titans, when they were trying to retool their roster during the "salary cap hell". I mean really have you been reading this thread or what.......I think it's pretty clear already Charlie Casserly sucked.

LMFAO...."a whopping two other examples"........dude that's three first round talents plucked out of the middle rounds in two drafts........again three first round talents in two drafts, possibly would be four if Charles Spencer didn't destroy his leg, the guy was tossing people around like rag dolls before he got hurt.

Fred Bennett is the real deal, the guy was playing like a shut down corner when he got his shot last year.....he was playing better than Dunta Robinson and at 6'1, he has the size to match up against any receiver in the league......he was a 4th rounder. Also thanks for letting me know that "Traditionally you can find TEs in the 2nd day of the draft." since y'all struggled to find one in the first round of that exact draft.

Gary Kubiak and Rick Smith (out of a couple of keepers) have completey overturned the entire roster in only 3 offseasons and drafts.........when they do have a winning season (and it will be soon), it will be because of their drafts alone.

I'm still trying to figure out the point you were trying to make. We drafted horribly the first 4 years of existence, only a few players left at all. All the while picking rather high each year. Last couple of years have seen a dramatic improvement....as well as a turn around from 2-14 to 8-8 under our new coach. This year we didnt pick in the top 10... and traded back to 26. What are you trying to say?

No doubt DeMeco is the anchor, but Houston added more young talent and speed to put around him. They still have Morlon Greenwood who was very solid last season, added depth in Bentley (brought over from Seattle by Ray Rhodes) and Chaun Thompson, and they want to get Zach Diles on the field more (Kubiak says he wished he played him more last season)

The guy who's probably going to make the biggest impact in this group however is Xavier Adibi, Kubiak is pretty high on this kid........he sounds alot like DeMeco

Jacoby Jones can push for more playing time and with Andre Davis......this is one of our deepest positions and a strength on this team.

Houston traded away their 6th round pick for a young center (Chris Myers) who started last season for the Broncos (so he already knows the system) due to injury and did really well.......He's only 26 and Bronco fans were pissed Mike Shannahan traded him away for just a sixth.

If Charles Spencer can return and lock down the guard spot Houston is actually going to have a good line this year.

Also don't forget Alex Gibbs, Gibbs always puts a good line on the field so he is really going to help out on the Oline.

When you compare stadium size to size of market, the whole tarp thing is pretty weak. Jacksonville built a larger stadium than they should have because of other venues here, ie. Gator Bowl, Florida/Georgia, etc. We do better than most teams in the league, based on percentage of population. But I digress.......

You guys do have an ascending team and I believe you will turn some heads this year. If your drafted players work for you, why bother with what another team's fan says.

Finally, you guys have the hottest cheerleaders in the game. Isn't that enough?;)

It's funny, when Gary Kubiak showed up that's when we started drafting well.......so I give Kubiak credit for Mario. Kubiak was a first year OFFENSIVE head coach and could have had any offensive talent in the draft for his system....but instead elected to go defense.......same thing with DeMeco, Kubiak elected to go defense again. Charley Casserly was a dead duck during that draft and everybody knew it....he really had no say so.

Out of four drafts he got us two good players and one was a top 3 pick beast WR (no brainer).......that's not exactly nailing down talent in the draft

Oops my bad, I'll be fair and include Domanick Davis, that guy was legit and before injury one of the best young backs in the league.

Fred Bennett might be the best young cornerback in the NFL. (Played in all 16 games, starting 15...totaled 119 tackles, 91 solo, one sack for eight yards, one interception, four passes defensed and one forced fumble...ranked eighth in the AFC in total tackles and fifth in solo tackles...had four double-digit tackle days,etc). The coaching staff absolutely loves LB [b]Zach Diles [/b]from last years draft, and is looking to start on the strong side. We then just drafted LB [b]Xavier Adibi[/b] in the 4th who the Texans think they got great value with this pick. As far as depth goes, we now have 7 LBs on the roster including [b]Chaun Thompson[/b] a former 2nd rd pick we got in ****ency.

WR: Our WR corp is possibly one of our strongest units. AJ, then Kevin Walters (solid #2), then Andre Davis, followed with last years draft pick WR Jacoby Jones.

O-Line: As stated, if Brown listens to Gibbs and becomes what we think he will... he will eventually take over at LT for good, and Salaam a solid back up. We just traded for our new starting Center Chris Meyers from Denver, RT is set with Winston, LG is set with Pitts. RG is a wild card, and a healthy return of highly touted Charles Spencer could challenge Mike Briesiel who played very well at RG down the stretch last year. Kasey Studdard, Jordan Black, Brandon Frye, Rashad Butler are other notables in various back up roles.

Casserly was def. there when first year head coach Kubiak showed up and worked together for that draft. There is no argument there. But, When you compare the previous 4 drafts under Casserly and Capers, then the one immediately after when Kubiak showed up.... pretty different results if you ask me. Its called Charley Cassery and Dom Capers. They drove us into the ground in 4 years. No one is going to argue that we were not horrible in those years when they were in charge. It has taken practically a miracle to turn this team around and go from 2-14, to 6-10, and most recently 8-8 by the new regime. 6 years to get to .500... yes, not great overall. But from where we were just a couple years ago to todays team is light years different.[/quote]

I think there is no doubt you guys will be slated to finish ahead of us next year. I doubt we can catch yall as an overall team until possibly 2009. But if we stay healthy, we should be able to play with most anyone THIS year. We will surprise some people I think. MNF at home against you guys is cirlced on my calendar... will be a great night. Hopefully due to our history of close games against each other and with the home field advantage we can squeak one out.
