VINCE YOUNG GETS NAKED IN PUBLIC?

Okay, so the photo that appears on Deadspin and TMZ and other sites is taken from the waist up, so we don’t quite known whether Titans quarterback Vince Young was dancing like the dude in the hilarious new Klon****e commercial. (If anyone has the video of that commercial, please please please send it to us. We’ll send you a Klon****e bar. The cooler and the dry ice will cost you $195, though.)

Still, when will guys like Young realize that they are now the targets of constant public scrutiny, that virtually everyone has a cell phone, that virtually every cell phone has a camera in it, and that there’s a device called the “Internet” that allows photos to be posted by one computer and then viewed by all the rest of them?

For now, Young hasn’t learned. Or maybe that six on the Wonderlic was deserved.

Or maybe he just doesn’t care. After all, he “ain’t in no god-**** draft.”

AFC South:

Jacksonville Jaguars:

The team traded up almost half a round in the first in order to select Florida defensive end Derrick Harvey. This was a major area of need for the Jaguars given the team's lack of a pass rush in recent years. Harvey is going to have to find himself as a player after adding a good deal of weight, but he's got natural ability to get after the QB. Where-as their first round pick was a bit of a reach, second round pick Auburn defense end Quentin Groves was a huge steal late in the second. Groves is another player who excels in rushing the quarterback. Suddenly the team has a pair of defensive ends to build around. Fifth round pick USC linebacker Thomas Williams was a highly rated player coming out of high school but got caught in a numbers game in college and didn't get on the field as much as expected. He's a smart, tough linebacker who plays downhill. Their second fifth round selection South Florida cornerback Trae Williams was another good value pick, Williams didn't have the best post-season but he's shown play-making ability in the past. The Jags went back to USC with their last pick, seventh rounder Chauncey Washington. Washington has unmistakable talent, but had a tough time finding the field during his time as a Trojan due to grades and injuries.

Grade: C+

Indianapolis Colts:

The team's first selection, second round pick Arizona State center Mike Pollak is the kind of player who'll fit in quickly on the Colts offensive line. He's a smart player who really shows an understanding for the position. Third round pick Georgia Tech linebacker Phillip Wheeler was a steal at this point in the draft, he's an instinctive player who has first round talent. Fourth round pick Kentucky tight end Jacob Tamme was tailor-made to play in the Colts offense, which loves to use multiple tight end sets. Tamme is, at best, an average blocker. But he excels in the passing game and may find himself a prime target for Archie's boy. Fifth round pick Georgia linebacker/defensive end Marcus Howard was a strange selection as he doesn't really seem to fit into the Colts defensive style of play. He was best suited to play rush-linebacker in a 3-4 defense. Still, players with his ability to get to the quarterback are worth having around. Sixth round pick Virginia tight end Tom Santi won't blow anyone away with his measureables, but he's one of the most solid tight ends in this draft. With their second sixth round pick, the team re-visits a position they already addressed once again in selection Wake Forest center Steve Justice. Justice should have no trouble moving over to the offensive guard position, good value here. The team's third sixth round pick Michigan running back Mike Hart was a star from the moment he arrived on the Michigan campus. However, concerns about his size and speed have knocked him down to this point in the draft. We're not going to overlook Hart and we believe he'll be a solid pro. The Colts final sixth round selection Mount Union wide receiver Pierre Garcon is a wonderful athlete for the position and has the chance to pay off in a big way after a few years on the bench. Clearly the Colts didn't believe two was enough, seventh round pick Buffalo center Jamey Richard marks the third offensive center which they selected. Still, Richard is excellent value here and like the players before him, there's no reason to believe he can't swing over to guard.

Grade: B

Houston Texans:

First round pick Virginia Tech offensive tackle Duane Brown was clearly a case of the team zeroing in on one position and taking the best player available at that position regardless of his place on the overall draft board. Brown is an extremely athletic offensive tackle who looks like a solid fit at left tackle. Third round pick Eastern Kentucky cornerback Antwaun Molden was one of the hottest names in the month leading up to the draft and was being discussed as a potential late first / early second round pick. He's a little raw because of the lower level of play, but has a great size/speed combo. The Texans second third round pick was West Virginia running back Steve Slaton. Slaton's been one of the more productive players in college football over the past few years, but drops a bit because of concerns over his size and injury history. I feel like Slaton is the kind of player who overcomes his adversities and he'll be a good player in the NFL in a few years. Fourth round pick Virginia Tech linebacker Xavier Adibi is another outstanding athlete for his position, but in another player who lacks ideal size. Fifth round pick Texas defensive tackle Frank Okam was the latest Texas DT to be hyped as a top 5 pick before the season started, only to find himself a mid-second day selection. Okam came to the combine out of shape and looked lazy overall. There's a real concern that he'll eat himself out of the league. Still, the talent is there. Sixth round pick Minnesota defensive back Dominique Barber is a hard-hitter in the secondary. While he lacks ideal speed for his position, he's an effort player who has a chance to become a starter down the line. Seventh round pick Washington State quarterback Alex Brink simply didn't show the skills you'd expect to find in an NFL QB. I expect his career will be a fairly short one.

Grade: C-

Titans running back LenDale White revealed today that he played the entire 2007 season on an injured knee — a knee that he says feels fine after he took part in today’s organized team activities.

“This happened last year in preseason. I tore my meniscus,” White said today, per Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper. “I played on it all season. Contrary to what people believe, I am a soldier. I played on it all year and I didn’t complain, not once. I waited until the season was over to get it fixed and now I’m feeling good.”

White started all 16 games in 2007 and played in the Titans’ first-round playoff loss before having arthroscopic surgery in January. He carried 304 times for 1,108 yards, and he now says he was doing it with a knee that hampered him.

“It affected me a lot, because it took me a long time to get warmed up. It was catching a lot and it hurt on certain days,” White said. “When we played San Diego, it was hurting bad. I came in and tried to put Ben Gay on it and Flexall 454, and I tried to get it warmed up as best I could. But now, I’m back and it’s 100 percent and it feels good.”

As he heads into his third NFL season, White is expected to be the Titans’ starter again this year. But the addition of first-round running back Chris Johnson means he’s likely to get fewer carries in 2008 than he had in 2007, which might help him stay healthy.

Staying healthy would also help White battle the weight problems he has had in the past. Coach Jeff Fisher said the knee injury appears to be affecting White’s conditioning, and the Titans’ coaches have said they would like White to play at around his listed weight of 235 pounds, a target weight he typically hasn’t been able to reach.

POLICE EXAMINE BULLET HOLES

Sal Paolantonio of ESPN is reporting that Philadelphia police examined bullet holes in two residences today when they returned to the scene of an April 29 shooting allegedly involving Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison.

The report says that police returned to the scene of the crime after getting new information from a third victim of the shooting. On Saturday the Philadelphia Daily News reported that detectives were searching for someone who had contacted them and said he was shot by Harrison.

The two previously identified victims were a 32-year-old man shot in the hand and a 2-year-old boy injured by broken glass.

Per Paolantonio, police have determined that six bullet casings recovered from the crime scene came from a gun that belongs to Harrison.

ESPN is reporting it right now. Harrison got into an altercation that lead to gunfire and Harrison shot off .50 caliber rounds and an innocent bystanding girl got hit with spraying glass. They are saying he has 25 registered guns, and reporting that a man got shot in the shoulder and witnesses eye Harrison as the shooter. This is crazy. I would never have imagined him even being at a bar much less shooting someone.

Let's establish this as fact:

Jake Scott, ex-starting Guard, is now with the Bengals

Jeff Saturday is over 30 and will be a free agent after the upcoming season.

Behind Saturday, there isn't a soul behind him. At Guard, Dylan Gandy is expected to make his debut as a starter with Ryan Lilja. Behind them lies Rick DeMulling, who is relatively old and has been a backup for most of his career.

After the draft, we take two of the top centers, both of relative size and both bigger than Saturday. One of them was a steal in the sixth round. We also take 6 foot, five inches, 297 pound Jamey Richard. If Saturday goes down, there wasn't anybody behind him before the draft.

All three of those "centers" could play guard.

Guard and center is where we were very thin at coming into this draft. You have to protect Peyton Manning. All three of those guys will enter a great offensive coaching system, which took a rookie last year and replaced the decade-long protector of Manning's blindside.

Bottom line: Isn't winning in the trenches what it's really all about?

Tight end-wise, Ben Utecht left. Behind Dallas Clark and Bryan Fletcher (who isn't very good at all, in my opinion), who is there? Clark is injury prone.

Picks: OT Mike Pollak, LB Philip Wheeler, TE Jacob Tamme, LB Marcus Howard, TE Tom Santi, C Steve Justice, RB Mike Hart, WR Pierre Garcon, G Jamey Richard
Positives: Pollak, Tamme and Howard
Negatives: Wheeler
Bottom line: B. OK, any criticism of this draft is a matter of being pretty picky. Colts president Bill Polian is always a step or two ahead of the pack. Last year, he traded away his first pick to get Tony Ugoh, a starting left tackle. This year, he’s looking ahead to keeping the line solid with Pollak, a guy who fits the Colts’ system perfectly. Likewise, Tamme gives the Colts another receiving tight end to work the middle of the field. Wheeler is a little stiff for what the Colts do on defense, but he’s still a solid player. Howard is a great experiment at either LB or DE.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Picks: DE Derrick Harvey, DE Quentin Groves, LB Thomas Williams, CB Trae Williams, RB Chauncey Washington
Positives: Harvey and Groves
Negatives: Gave away took many draft picks.
Bottom line: C+. This is not a criticism of the players the Jaguars took. Harvey is one of the most dynamic pass rushers in the draft, capable of playing both outside and inside. He’s going to be a force. Groves is only a step or two behind. However, how quickly will these guys make it? The Jags are in position to compete for a title and there’s a good argument that they could have nabbed Dolphins DE Jason Taylor with some of those picks. It’s a pretty good bet that Taylor will have more sacks over the next two years than either Harvey or Groves. Maybe more than them combined.

Tennessee Titans
Picks: RB Chris Johnson, DE Jason Jones, TE Craig Stevens, DL William Hayes, WR Lavelle Hawkins, LB Stanford Keglar, DB Cary Williams
Positives: Jones and Hawkins
Negatives: Johnson, Stevens and Hayes
Bottom line: D. This not a shot at Johnson, who is one of the fastest players in the draft, but this is the third consecutive year the Titans have spent a first- or second-round pick on a running back. They desperately need receiving help. Jones fills in for the loss of Antwan Odom. Hayes will get a shot at that job as well, but he was more of reach. Hawkins is a really nice pickup in the fourth round, but the Titans needed to get another one earlier.

Multiple articles around here have suggested that. He was cut by the Patriots and his hometown is, indeed, Indianapolis.

I don't think he would be a major improvement, but it would be another guy in a good rotation of linebackers. He's a veteran, which could be an influence to the rest of the defense.

Looking at our linebacker depth chart, we are pretty deep.

If we thought it was competitive last year - this year looks to be even moreso. The Texans, IMO will be playing for 2nd place.

The top three teams could be a game or two away from each other 3/4's through the season.

Obviously, the Colts will be playing for first, but for the first time in years they will have legitimate contenders right over their shoulders.

I think the Titans are the only team that didn't get better out of the bottom 3 teams. The Colts didn't really have to get better - just stay where they were to a degree.

I think the Jags made the most noise this off-season and have improved their roster the most over the past two seasons. The Texans jump the Titans and the Jags have a chance to take the division. With that said, here is my prediction:

Colts 11 - 5 (Win through tie-breaker)

Jags 11 - 5

Texans 9-7

Titans 7-9
