Newsflash: even without any "injury" excuse, Brian Williams is the better CB than Florence. The injury is just a convenient way to camaflouge this move.

Its really uncanny....this team is in the crapper, theres a lackof playmakers all over the roster, the GMwas the top guy in charge of orchestrating thesebig money deals to FA's that have done very little and also traded half the draft away for a DE that has done just about nothing, and all you ppl can do is either look the other way or continuously make excuses for the front office.

Do you think Weaver is going to take this like you guys are, given he just was saddled with 3 contracts that cumulativeliy approach 100 MIL - and has gotten almost nothing out of the investment?!?!

Pretty soon, he will be gone - James Harris will be out of here. Theres probably going to be a mass suicide of bridge jumpers from this message board when these peoples messiah (Harris) is gone.

I honest to God have never EVER seen such a mass defense of a mediocre GM or coach in my football life, as I see with the way these people defend James Harris & try to insulate him from any blame.

When Coughlin was head of personnel, this team won back to back division titles in 1998-99.

It also won FOUR playoff games in his first 5 years, and reached the AFCC game twice.
From late 1996 to 1999 The Jaguars under Coughlin amassed a record of 41-12, which is around an amazing .800 winning pct.

With the personnel headed up by Harris, this team has NO division titles, won only ONE playoff game in 5 seasons, reached NO AFCC games, and the peak of the success was from 2004-2007 with a 40-24 mark, which is around 60% compared to Coughlin's peak of 80% winning pct.

the only thing we agree on is that williams is a better cover 2 CB. but i dont want to see this team die slow.. its ridiculous... teams will run down our throat, and pass slowly up the field... just like they did all of last year. florence can handle guys 1 on 1 better than williams which would allow us to bring more pressure. we havent blitzed in like 3 weeks.

it's going to be great watching us rush 4 on the lowly bengals and not even sack them... what a disgrace...

it doesnt get much more pathetic than having 60 mill in 2 players sitting on the bench

Huh? I talked about bringing Drayton Florence in before he was even signed to play nickel and shore up the secondary. It has nothing to do with being right or wanting to be right. It just so happens what I felt was the best formation for the secondary came to fruition. Brian Williams isn't anything special at SS, else there would be a huge difference when he's not playing it and Sensabaugh is, which there hasn't been.

The problem is playing man didn't work so they're going back to Cover 2, which they should have been doing all year. Williams is much better than Florence at Cover 2.

umm yea he did force the fumble alfie... it wasn't really a heraculean effort but he did cause it.

also you raved about Sensy in the offseason at SS and keeping Bwill at CB so is this why you're defending him ATM. so you can see you're dream formation come to pass? I like Bwill better at SS since he seems like a better fit there.

also I think Florence should start at RCB and then move inside to NB when we play Nickel since he seems to be better there than Williams is and he did that in San Diego

In 1999, we had the best league record and demolished the Dolphins 62-7 in the Div. round! Than he loses to a team for the third time in a season and for the second time at home!

I've never seen someone defend an Owner as much as TMD. He mentions Weaver in passing, but does not even criticize him for all of the personnel decisions that he's made!! How could he own a team that loses to the Browns?! We've got one of the most mediocre owners in the league and TMD just doesn't see it. He's an Owner apologist!!![/quote]
