John Randle?!? If he gets in, then Boselli should certainly get consideration. I would bet that more people considered Tony the best at his position while he was playing than thought Randle was the best at his.

I mean He was better then average but his stats would not be so gaudy if Mark wastn left handed. They say he only gave up one sack his whole carrer, hehe well only cause Mark could see evey miss block he made and took off.

Another thing that might hurt Boseli, is that while he was a great LT, our qb was a lefty. Meaning that Searcy was watching his blindside.

I don't think Boselli will make it into the HOF on the first ballot but I think he belongs there...

In six seasons and 88 games Tony only gave up 14.5 sacks... zero sacks in six play-off games...those are unreal stats... I don't think there's but a hand full of OLT that can compare with those stats...

It's ashame that Tony's career was cut short by injuries... it was a real pleasure watching him play football for the Jags... if not for those injuries... Tony would have been a first ballot Hall of Famer...

How can you be a HOF if you weren't even one of the best at your posistion during your playing career?

When the NFL allowed fans to vote players into the Pro Bowl, and made that vote equal to the opinion of the players and coaches, it became a popularity contest.

They should have allowed fans to vote in one "at large" player each for offense, defense and special teams- for both conferences. The remaining roster spots should then have been filled by coach and player votes only.

It's too late now; they increased fan interest, which was what they wanted. But now it's the equivalent of being voted homecoming or prom queen. It doesn't always reflect on what players do on the field.

I also do not see any reason it should matter whether he played on one of the very old teams or a new one. Boselli was on a great team. The HOF is for acknowledging individual successes by players and coaches regardless of who they belonged to. If being on an expansion team matters, no players on any expansion team would have the honor of being nominated.

Tony Boselli himself once told Ron Pitts having his name put on a stadium wall (plus the unofficial retirement of #71) "is the highest honor." I don't think he was waiting for a call from Canton the last five years because he is not a Terrell Owens type of guy.

To be mentioned alone is an honor. I think eventually Boselli gets in. He was easily the best tackle while he played and short career or not was one of the best of all time.
