So, the Jaguars should just overspend because they knew it was going to cost them to move up to #8? I'm glad that the fans have no control over this because the cap would be destroyed in about 5 minutes if that was permitted.

The Jaguars have offered him a fair market contract based on where he's slotted. He was looking to break the bank and get a deal that would have paid him at a level that was only seen by guys drafted AHEAD of him. They weren't going to buckle, and they still won't. They understand what the market value is, and they're sticking to their position.

Oddly enough, any movement that has been seen between the two sides has been the player coming closer to the team's number and not the other way around.

The market has determined the slot, and the Jaguars are sticking to that slotting with their offer. They have every right to take the stance that they have, and in the end, when a deal DOES get signed (and it will), guess whose numbers will be closer to the reality? It won't be Harvey and Kremer.

Yea thing is they are arguing over signing bonus not really total amount of contract. Besides his salary in rookie year is usually peanuts compared to signing bonus salaries get higher in the later years of the contracts. He will be signed sometime this week or we all hope anyway.
