For moving? Perhaps nothing. But if Buffalo moves anywhere it will be to Toronto, not LA. That will either happen in time or it won't, but so far as moving Buffalo is now a completely separate situation compared to other small market teams.

I don't understand why people keep pointing out the fact that said parties are denying the story. We've seen it a million times, especially in sports, staunch denials and then a team or coach leaves in the middle of the night. I personally don't believe that random reporters just wake up one morning and decide to do stories on the Jaguars. The team barely gets press as it is, so why would the Jags be the focus of some conspiracy. I believe the story comes up every year because there is some basis to it. Unfortunately we won't know until it's official, the same way the Dolphins lost their coach.

With the exception of Green Bay, you should already know that it's completely possible for ANY team to move to LA. Your logic is way off in demanding a refund...why buy tickets in the first place if there's a chance that the next year, you won't be able to buy tickets? Regardless of whether the team moves to LA,

Weaver has to sell the team and he has to sell it now. Two reasons:

1) Capital gains taxes. Right now they are at a maximum of 15%. Regardless of who wins the White House, we will probably see capital gains taxes going up, in an effort the solve the federal government's deficit problems. That means if he delays a sale, it could cost him $100 million dollars in extra taxes that he would not have to pay if he sold the team NOW.

2) Inheritance taxes. If he keeps the team and passes it along to his heirs, his estate will owe massive estate taxes. That works fine if the estate has other assets that it can sell off, but I believe WW's assets are mostly tied up in this $800 million NFL team. So, even if he keeps the team, his heirs will be forced to sell it.

So, sell it now: 15% capital gains tax.
Sell it later: speculatively, up to 28% capital gains tax.
Leave it to heirs upon his death: up to 49% inheritance tax.

FIGURE IT OUT.

What can we do? Buy tickets, don't worry about things we can't control, and enjoy each day we have with our beloved team. As they say in LA, que sera sera.

The problem with leaving it to your heirs is the inheritance tax they would have to pay. If the team is valued at 800 million when Weaver passes away, it could trigger hundreds of millions in inheritance tax, which would force a sale anyway.

The first team to lock in there will help ensure that the rest of the teams in jeopardy will stay put. If the Jags sell soon, it could be them.

The bills will always have Toronto to worry about.
