Boo friggin hoo.

Call or non call, who cares. I think everyone with a shred of football intelligence knows how much holding goes on at the line of scrimmage on any given play. If the Steelers fans are griping, then that's sour grapes. It was a great play, made by a great palyer and a better team that night. Deal with it.

I, for one, cannot WAIT until the Steelers come to Jax this fall to get punched in the face all over again. What a great game that was, by the way!

These things tend to balance themselves out in the end. This instance is no different. There were bad calls on both sides of the field. They benefitted, and so did we. In the end, the Jags walked out with a win. Life goes on.

Oh, that play. Well it was all Williams' fault because his face mask grabbed Ward's hand, hence the pass interference.

Absolutely. But as pointed out, it wasn't the only incorrect officiating decision in that game - as in pretty much [b]any[/b] game there were some bad calls that went each way.

It was a hold. Should have been called; I was at the stadium, and people were pissed!

But I still haven't got over the time when they called it a "fumble" in '06 against the Pats, one of the final games of the season (second to last?), had a chance to get into the playoffs, and GARRARD'S ARM WAS CLEARLY GOING FORWARD.

Incomplete pass. No, wait, let's let the Pats win it, FUMBLE!!

Yeah, Well on their 4th and goal, The refs screwed up bigtime for calling pass interference on BW, and hines ward gets away with nearly breaking BW's neck through his face mask, But that doesn't need to be mentioned. 1 bad call on us, 1 bad call on them, Doesn't matter much, We won.

REF SHOULD HAVE FLAGGED GARRARD RUN

One of the most exciting plays of this year’s playoffs should have been called back because of a holding penalty.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the NFL now acknowledges that Jaguars quarterback David Garrard’s 32-yard run on fourth-and-2 late in Jacksonville’s playoff win over the Steelers was aided by a block that should have been flagged for holding.

Per Bouchette, VP of Officiating Mike Pereira admitted that the crew working the game erred in not calling a holding penalty against Jacksonville on the play, which set the Jaguars up for the winning field goal.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin declined to comment yesterday.

Although the missed call was disappointing to Steelers fans, there are plenty of more flagrant holds that don’t get called, and that non-call was far from the only reason the Steelers lost.

In fact, part of the reason Tomlin declined to comment may be that he realizes his own odd decision to call for Ben Roethlisberger to run up the middle on third-and-6 with 2:56 left in the game hurt the Steelers as much as the missed holding penalty. That quarterback sneak netted the Steelers one yard, and the punt on the next play put the Jaguars in position for the game-winning drive.

Why now? What good does it do? At least the comments indicate that there are plenty of non-calls in games and that Pitt contributed to their own defeat with some questionable decisions.
