I love his game, I'd definently take him over Michael Johnson (Ga Tech), Now M. Johnson had a good game vs. UVA with a sack and FF on 1st round prospect Eugene Monroe, but Johnson dissapears too much for my liking and he is really a high ceiling guy for sure, but he's got a way to go, I'd take him in Teal for sure, but not over Everette Brown

Yea Everette had like 3 sacks today, a lot more pressures, and some tackles for loss. The LT could not stop has inside spin move. He's SO athletic.

I think all 4 will be drafted ahead of Everette. It's not a knock on Everette either. The only one I'm not sure on is Michael Johnson. Johnson looks like Gaines Adams but doesn't play like him. I'll see him go against FSU's freshman tackles in a couple weeks and I'll have a better idea of what he can do.

Let's assume the Jags put it all together and start playing like we all hoped they would when the season started. Let's say the Jags draft no worse than the 28th pick in Rd 1. I will also assume that Hardy, Selvie and Johnson are all taken. If Orapko is there, then I favor his selection. If not then there could be any number of options, but if Everette Brown is that sleeper DE that we all think he could be, then it might not be a bad choice to take Brown in Rd 1 and then grab a DT like Peria Jerry of Ole Miss or even Tyson Jackson of LSU if he is still available at the end of Rd 2.

The Jags need to concentrate on making the Dline one of the better units in the AFC, if they ever want to win the division and advance to the Super Bowl. Taking a solid DE and DT in the first two rounds followed by an OG/OT in Rd 3, would solidify both lines and that is where the Jags need to fortify their depth.

Let's face it, if Spicer and Hayward can't generate more of a pass rush, then why pay them the big bucks?

Everette Brown seems to have the frame to add 10-15 pounds and get to 265-270

Brian Orakpo could also put on another 10 lbs to get to 270

Greg Hardy too has the fram to add weight

George Selvie though does not, at 245 lbs. he is thin through the hips and if he did add 15-20 lbs he would lose speed, so I think his best situation in the NFL would be in a 3-4 as an OLB

Michael Johnson is a good player with tons of potential, and I'm intrigued by that potential, but to me he's an enigma

I do think Everette has the frame to get to 260+.

I would, however, want a DT in round one and not Everette (unless Reggie Hayward or Spicer are not brought back for some reason).

Michael Johnson is falling off a bit. Calais syndrome. A former backup turned starter and he is playing a lot of snaps. He isn't really producing.

Orakpo is a stud. Not quite at a Merriman level, but that is the kind of player he is. Hybrid player. As is Selvie, maybe he is more of a Gaines Adams, we'll see. He is playing well, but he isn't producing at a Selvie-level. But the man is triple teamed regularly.

Greg Hardy is a real solid player.

That's how I rank them in how I like them

I'm not sold on Johnson. Selvie I believe will be a 34 OLB because I don't think you can add weight to him because I don't believe he has the frame to add the necessary weight and keep his speed.

I don't know if he'd be more successful in a 4-3 or 3-4. I think he's got the ability to succeed in both schemes. He's not stiff. He can definitely drop back. I just don't know how effective he'll be rushing the pass without his hand on the ground.[/quote]

Yeah that's what I was referring to. He's definitely fluid and can cover I think. I'm talking strictly pass rush.

He' extremely athletic, a very good player, and has a great spark off the line of scrimmage. I've seen him bull rush tackles, rip through tackles, and spin to the inside of tackles. He's also dropped back in zone blitzes and been able to make plays (came close to 2 INT's this year, dropped them both, but hey he's a DE).

I could easily see him being a 1st round pick this year if he comes out, especially with the premium on DE's now. I don't see him falling past round 2, personally, although I could be biased seeing I'm a Nole.

My predicition: he declares this year as a junior, and is taken no later than the top 10 of the second round.
