Absolutely not. Not only does he have alot of miles on him, and a prima donna in the locker room, he has off the field issues too. Along with a big contract and his drop in productivity, the chiefs are married at the hip with LJ

Nope. He's a good RB that needs a great OL to be successful. Plus he's a me-first player that would hate being part of a RB stable.

I don't think that he would do well here [i]at all[/i].

He is a guy that needs to be coddled, and loved, and be the center of attention for the Offense or he goes all 'surly' on you and quits. I don't think that he would operate very well in a two-back system where he is just another option.

It’d be a wise move to move L.J., as we pointed out in last week’s Ten-Pack for SportingNews.com. Really, who needs a high-end running back when the team is routinely going to be abandoning the run?

The problem is that the Chiefs will have a hard time finding someone to assume Johnson’s contract, and his reputation for surliness. (The other problem is that, barring a catastrophic injury on Sunday, no contending team needs a tailback of L.J.’s ilk. Except for maybe the Broncos, but the Chiefs would likely resist trading Johnson within the division.)

Johnson is signed for four more seasons, with base salaries of $2.5 million in 2008, $4.55 million in 2009, $5 million in 2010, $5.3 million in 2011, and $5.9 million in 2012.

Assuming that the Chiefs decide to trade Larry Johnson this offseason, would you advocate trading a 2009 Rd 3 pick to make this trade? Sure Fred is still healthy, but a Larry Johnson and MoJo running combo would be awesome. Looks like his contract is not much different than Fred's.

[/quote] For a 3rd? Absolutely. But LJ is a line-dependant back. It's different from an average back behind a good line because LJ will manipulate his line (patiently running behind them, then pushing them into the way to create holes). I think he would do great if he could put even more power behind his running.
