If Greg Hardy is getting benched, then good, not for him, but for us, because that will probably make him more inclined to leave after this season and lower his draft stock to a point to maybe where we could snag him in the 2nd round

Here is a little blurb from ProFootballWeekly.com regarding Greg Hardy, who I believe is perhaps the most talented Jr. DE in the nation and in my book should easily be the first DE drafted in the 2000 draft.

Mississippi junior DE Greg Hardy was benched in the second half last week against South Carolina for his lazy play. I like his site too. Just always seems to have something against our WRs. I have liked his Emmit Smith coaching career though. At the very least he is good for a few laughs.

Right now Marks of Auburn is my No. 1 DT prospect and I expect him to be a Top 15 pick. On the other hand, I expect Herman Johnson of LSU will fall to Rd 2. In fact he could fall as far as the bottom of Rd 2.

thats not too shabby. the only thing i dont like is the first round pick, we need a DT badly, but OL is a much bigger concern, unless uche gets much better and barnes learns how to block a gaurd/tackle is much needed..more than a DT[/quote]

i wont lie, i like derrick williams in the 2nd round. the guys is a GREAT receiver, i watch alot of penn state games and i think with some good coaching he could be a jimmy smith type guy for our team

now, as for senderrick marks in the 1st round, i would personally give a 1st and 3rd and move up to get a michael oher or herman johnson type player...i would also expect herman johnson to go in the top 15, there is obvious players who are better..but there is at least 2 or 3 OL worthy of top 20 picks and when the first OL goes off the board expect the rush on lineman which is where the jags will pick one up

I am pretty sure Starks is an UFA too. The team probably planned on Trae Williams filling that role but he was terrible.

in all honesty, if they are going to target linebacker it should be done in round 3, and there i would take ryan stamper over brandon spikes, simply because we dont need spikes, hes a middle and darryl smith will move to middle after the season is over

ryan stamper would be a good coverage linebacker to help our defense

With the injury to Scott Starks, the Jags have to be looking for another CB in the 2009 draft. If it takes two years to come back from a severe ACL injury, then Starks can not be counted on next season.

The problem as I see it, is that this may not be the year to draft a CB high in this draft.

I don't think that Spikes is nearly the equal to Weatherspoon especially when it comes to coverage skills. Now I don't use Weatherspoon in the middle since I think Daryl Smith belongs there now. As far as I am concerned, the only thing going for Spikes is that he is a Gator.

That's too bad for Spikes because so far he has been a good player for the gators. I don't see Curry falling though because he is starting to become talked about. Do you see us taking a corner anywhere in the draft or does addressing the two lines take precedence over everything?

they didnt give his pressures? he had at least a handful, thats more impactful than tackles, tebow was running for his life today[/quote]

Nah they didn't say his pressures at the end of the telecast, but I'll be able to find it probably on the internet

oh and add in the final tackle on tim tebow that won the game...top 15 draft pick at the worst, i think top 10 possibility

While I absolutely agree that Greg Hardy is a beast, I am not so sure that the kid does not fall to the middle to late teens. I have been anxious to see what he can do coming off that injury to his foot.
