He didn't have his man beat. The DB slowed down to try and pick it off and tipped it to him because he mistimed the jump.[/quote]

The only reason the guy even had a chance to jump for the ball was because it was severely underthrown. Harvin had the guy beat by 3-5 yards. Harvin had already stopped completely before the ball was tipped.

Ginn has no lateral quickness. the guy builds speed as he runs.

harvin has hte ability to change direction without losing speed like no other player ive ever seen. college or pro. honestly. his only knock is the injury thing. anyone who criticizes harvin's ability is either a or biased. if you wanna knock his injuries or off the field stuff from high school go right ahead. but pure athletic ability is outrageous.

Well they forced Ohio State down our throats on tv every weekend. So maybe it was three years of watching him on TV or maybe it was the many draft scouting reports that noted that he was "more fast than quick" or maybe it was the fact that he never did any of the agility tests before the draft (he only ran the 40) that lead me to KNOW this FACT.

And before you ask, no I will not go and look up all of the scouting reports for you.

percy harvin is not a typical gator reciever. the kid is stacked. he has built his bubble right and he is no slouch in the weight room. he won;'t have theproblem dealing with contact that his predecessors had. i think that he is going to be a dynamic big play reciever at the next level. and he is actually a quick twitch athlete. before, there were a lot of 4.5 guys in a good system. He does have what I'd call a "better build" than maybe Hilliard or Caldwell. He looks like he could run on those legs for 100 years, no problem.

I think he might can make it in the NFL and possibly pretty big if he gets with the right program because of his pysical attributes he should go fairly high. I wouldn't be suprised to see him go round 1 and it wouldn't suprise me if it's Jacksonville.

I watched a good bit of the Arkansas game today which was really the first time this year I really focused on Harvin and he looks OK to me.

Yeah I was gonna say Evans or Santanna Moss. If he is successful, he could end up being similar to those guys. Moss has surprised me this year. He is better than I thought. I still wish we would have drafted Evans when we had the chance.

Ok yea Kestahn was the exception on that team.

About FSU, I wouldn't dare say it yet. We're still going to have a ton of growing pains with all of our youth. We played 22 true freshman in our first 3 games, more than any team in the country, and 2 of those are on our Oline (the other 3 consist of 1 RS freshman and 2 sophmores). We all know it starts there for the offense. I say we'll have a similar record to last year, never losing by a lot because our defense is still pretty stout and talented. But thanks, it was a nice win, Ponder definitely looked better in the second half. It seems like he's learning how to manage more effectively when we're not in 1st and 20 situations.

I like Maclin myself. I haven't really watched him play this season, but just looking at the highlight clips I think he looks better than Harvin.

He's a sophomore but a lot of people are apparently expecting him to enter the draft after a record breaking freshmen year, aka Sidney Rice in '07 when Rice entered the NFL draft after his sophomore season. Guys who break records as freshmen apparently are ready for the NFL draft.

Best I remember Rice went low in the draft, like round 2, but I kind of figured that might happen because he was always drawing double coverage and if you deducted his 10 catch 250 yard 5 TD game that year he had a really mediocre year.

Maclin on the other hand is having a big year across the board and I think if he enters the draft he'll go much higher than Rice did and I think he's got potential.

Honestly I like Maclin and Heyward Bey ahead of Harvin.

I'll give you Tebow is a wail of an athlete. He's a huge guy and can make plays (A la playmaker as you say). And not being as good of a passer as Chase Daniel is no slight in any way to any quarterback. It's such a shame Chase is 4 inches too short, but then again if he was 6'3 he wouldn't be playing for Missouri today.

Figure being a Mizzou fella, I could chime in on this one.

First Chase Daniel is every bit of 5'11 and 220 he's big. I've real close to the guy he's not but a tiny bit shorter than I am (I'm just slightly over 6').

Maclin is speed. Maclin is route running, but he doesn't run the outside routes. He does play the slot a lot and doesn't have to get off the jam as much as you'd like.

Probably 10% of his involvement is gimmick plays however, but the guy can flat out catch the football, as well as get open. I know Mizzou isn't a power for football (until now, Thanks PINK!), and all the other games I watch are Big 12 for the most part, but I am telling you no one reads an entire field in college football like Daniel does. So Maclin has that advantage. Maclin is a game breaker, but look at what Daniel does for Jerad Perry and Tommy Saunders (Saunders was a walk on).

I haven't watched a ton of Florida so I cannot comment on Harvin, but Maclin runs good routes, but he doesn't have to beat the press. He's faster than Crabtree but isn't as impressive a build. Crabtree will win the body contest. Maclin has more speed than Crabtree could ever have. Maclin equates to a Steve Smith type player in the NFL I do believe.
