South Carolina made too many mistakes. They had alot of penalties against NC State but it didn't really hurt them. It really came back to haunt them against Vandy. The offense cost them the game with penalties then the defense felt inclined to join in and drive the proverbial nail in the coffin.

Vanderbilt has really become a thorn in the side of SC. If they hadn't lost to Vandy last year they could have been 7-5 with maybe a better bowl bid.

I was hoping they'd defeat Vandy and possibly make atleast a good show at Georgia, but I'm just not convinced it's there. The offense had some tempo issues last season and it looks like they still have them. They aren't hitting a strong enough stride to establish a ball control offense. They are close but not close enough and it think that was a large part of Smelley's 2 picks. He's got to get a little better on his reads to keep the team out of momentum trouble because I still think at times they are very much a momentum team.

McKinley left early with a hamstring. Hope it wasn't anything major. I think he only needs like 7 catches and about 200 yards to break Sterling Sharpe's school records.

Vandy and South Car are bad...but it was a good win for the school...got them all hyped up

That was actually Tim Brando, I believe. He was mentioning that he grades a conference from the bottom - up. Vandy was a joke for so long and now they're actually fielding a team that could contend for many High School state championships in many different states. :D

I see you mentioned Miss. St. and Tenn losing last week and questioning the SEC's "rank" as the best conference in college football. It's too bad you forgot to mention what South Carolina, Bama, and Kentucky did. I guess those games don't fit your agenda. :)

Nobody expected Tenn to be good. Were they supposed to win? Yeah. They flew across the countryand lost in overtime.Also, we're judging the SEC by Miss. St. now? Seriously?

I never said the SEC isn't the best conference. It's the stupid notion that if you don't play in the SEC, you're worthless. Like all these s who talk about "Well, if USC had to play in the SEC..." If USC was in the SEC, they'd win it the majority of the time.

I think the SEC is the best conference, but it's not head and shoulders better than every other conference. That's where it's overrated.

Saying Vandy vs. SC is why the SEC is so tough is hilariously stupid. Both teams are terrible. That's like saying Minnesota vs. Northwestern is why the Big 10 is so good.

East Carolina [b]IS[/b] a good team, who nearly beat VTech last year. They beat Boise State last year in a Bowl. That was an upset to watch. Did [b]ANYONE[/b] call for UCLA to upset Tennessee? No, because UCLA is terrible on offense playing with a 3rd string JUCO transfer QB and a brand new offensive line.

The point is people call the SEC so great because it's such a tough conference because of "any given Saturday". That means they prop up teams like South Carolina, Mississippi State (who was 8-5 last year), Vanderbilt, Alabama, Kentucky, and Ole Miss the past couple of years.

Oh, and NCState is probably one of the worst teams in the country. I'm so sure you should be flaunting South Caroline beating them, since they looked good awful for 3 quarters.

Now watch, if Tennessee or South Carolina upsets someone... it will be brought up about the "rigors" of the SEC. Everyone will forget about them being BAD teams.

Yup I just like seeing hm get proved wrong then try to yell his way out of it. And to think, Vandy is capable of producing such crap.
