(And since it’s the 28th day of the month, the dropping of the charges therefore should come fairly soon.)

Chilcoat explained that Keglar was a bystander in a bar fight involving former Purdue tight end Dustin Kellar, who was selected in the first round on Saturday by the Jets. Kellar apparently was on the losing end of the deal, so Keglar jumped in to break it up.

Supposedly.

We’ve got no reason to doubt Chilcoat for claiming that his client is innocent, and we appreciate Chilcoat giving us his client’s side of the story. But the reality is that every agent or lawyer with a client facing criminal charges is going to say the guy didn’t do it.

Regardless of whether, you know, he did.
