Exactly, and I really like Stewart. He is a beast who has pretty decent straight line speed and very good hands. If he is the best player available on the Jags board then they have to either take him or trade down. This team is good enough that there is no reason to reach for a percieved need. Talib would also be fine because you can never have enough good corners when you are in the division with the Clots.[/quote]

Talib, along with Manningham, have fallen off a lot of team's draft boards due to failed drug tests. Both tested positive for "the chronic" at least once. Talib failed like 4 tests throughout his college years.

Absolutely I would pass. If I cant get a guy in the first round who is going to for sure be the right starter this year. Then I trade down with a smile. Now Jonathon Stewart is a very talented play. But why pay that kinda money for a guy you only need to carry the ball maybe twice a game. I like us to get that RB from UCF K. Smith.

I'm just not a big fan of Jonathan Stewart. To me, even before the injury, he was way behind Mendenhall and McFadden. I think we draft Fred's replacement next year or the year after.[/quote]

Not to sound like a Ketchman-ite here, but I think that this is the perfect scenario to ask yourself: "Who is the better player?"

Out of that list, I think that Stewart is the best option.

I think Cherilus would make the most sense

I agree with what someone said about Taylor. It's too early to be looking for his replacement and with all the backs floating around the NFL I'm not sure his replacement will be drafted. I mean I'd rather have a poential free agent signing in a year or two say like Chester Taylor or Thomas Jones than drafting a RB at this point

We need a 3rd RB this year anyway since Toefield left. Why not grab Stewart to return kicks (save MJD's body) and groom for the future. What about any of those other guys I listed? Would you take any of them over a 4th or 5th rated DE in the first?[/quote]

Out of those guys, I'd take Talib.

As far as a 3rd running back, I agree that we should probably take one. I'm just not sold on throwing a lot of money at Stewart in the first, to be an heir apparent. I think we'll draft a replacement for Fred next year or the year after.

WR Devin Thomas-- yes a WR. This is the least likely position of little need we would draft, UNLESS Del Rio and his staff plan a total overhaul of the WR corps. Devin Thomas is being talked about as possibly the best all-round WR in the draft right now. If the Jags are serious about upgrading the WR, he would be a great addition. Of course this would mean Matt Jones leaving the team, hopefully in a trade scenario. Porter, Williams, Thomas, Northcutt, Williamson---nice.

I would agree with taking Stewart or Talib because I believe that they are the types of players that are just too good to pass up. I don't really think Cherilus is that highly regarded and the same goes for Thomas.

Note: I didn't include Kenny Phillips or Kentwan Balmer because Safety and DT are positons "of need". Safety more than DT, IMO.
