TexasJagFan just admitted to being Necro, JaguarsModerator7, and The World's Greatest in a thread called "HAHAHA NO MODS" which he then, of course, deleted.

I sent the Jaguars Webmaster an email with screenshots; but, I thought I'd post here also in case anyone else who saw wanted to corroborate. I don't think MODs can delete posts in the Jaguars.com Forum, but I guess we'll soon see.

The "Search" button on the Forums home page does not seem to work. All the other javascript buttons on the page work except for this one. This is the "Search" button on the Forums home page with the pop-up description "Search All Forums". When I click it, the lower left corner says Javascript void. Can it be fixed?

Just curious as to why. It's not that big of a deal, but as they say "when you come to the party, it's nice to know who you're partying with." The point being that what does it hurt to know who else is also on the board at the time?

I was scoping the Broncos message boards to see what they were saying about the upcoming game and there was an idea I think we should steal from them...They have a topic called "orange & blue glasses"....its a section of the board where no negativity is allowed. I think this is a great idea as the ranting and hatred on this site can be kinda draining....

The should have a "Jaguars - Teal covered glasses" section...where you can post positive topics only...

Just a thought...Hope a Moderator reads this...

Starting Wednesday, July 23, 2008, we will be recording and posting all three radio shows throughout the end of the season again.
The schedule is as follows:

Airs on Mondays, 6:00pm-7:00pm. First show starts 8/11/08. Last show airs 1/5/09.*

[b]Jack Del Rio Show: [/b]
Airs on Tuesdays, 6:00pm-7:00pm. First show stated 7/22/08. Last show airs 1/13/09.*

[b]Jaguars This Week: [/b]
Airs Wednesdays, 6:00pm-7:00pm. Will start the 2-hour show (5pm-7pm) on 8/6/08 and will go through 1/21/09*, then back to 6pm-7p.

*will be extended if we’re in the playoffs.

I know that many may disagree, but I get tired of having half of the JAGUAR ask Vic questions spent talking about golf. If I wanted to talk about golf, I would go to a golf website. I personally dislike golf and would like to read about the Jaguars, when I visit the website. I know I'm in the minority, but somebody has to agree with me. I guess it could be worse, he could spend a lot of time talking about soccer.

Oh and on a positive note, I can't wait to kill the Colts.

My operating system is a Microsoft Vista and for some reason when I use Internet Explorer 7, I can't access this message board (http://mb.jaguars.com). I keep getting a Domain Name Server (DNS) error. I'm not having any connection issues since I can access just about every website out there. For some reason, this message board is the only one I can't access.

Need some help from you techies. :)

BTW, I'm using AOL 9.0 right now to access this site and post this message, but can't access by using my IE.

Any suggestions?

Jaguars.com Issue

When attempting to access www.jaguars.com I am consistently pulling up a page from May 6, 2008. I have deleted all cached files, history and cookies but I still am not able to pull up the most recent home page. If I attempt to go to News>All News and Features the page never loads. Further, when attempting to access the site it takes roughly 3 minutes to actually load the page.

I have checked my security settings and can't find any smoking gun. This is the only site I visit that is doing this. Thoughts?

Credit Where Due

I have been critical of Vic Ketchman in the past over various things.

However, the Jaguars' website-which was already loaded with good information-has turned it up a notch with the OTA reports, interviews, and links to other league wide stories. Ketchman has contributed a great deal to that, and my prior criticisms of him aside, he deserves a great deal of credit for it and kudos for a good job.

If only slightly, his efforts, and the efforts of all relevant Jaguars.com staffers, are helping me and football die hards here through the horrible football withdrawal during this time of year.

No, I'm NOT becoming a Ketchmanite. But I do appreciate what he and Jaguars.com as a whole has done since about late March or so.

Board Software Suggestion

Why oh why can we not get some board software that actually works? vBulletin is used on a few other sites that I frequent, and has higher traffic numbers. So far I have yet to see any major down time and things "just work". Just the little things such as avatars, signatures, the ability to post images and the ability to embed videos from youtube, etc.

I compared the licensing fees, and it would actually cost less to use.

New COC Effective at Midnight

As a result of organizational concerns, and your private and public complaints regarding the content on this board, we have rewritten the Code of Conduct (COC).

The new COC clearly defines what is not allowed on the board and is additionally very clear on the actions that will be taken should one decide to not follow those rules. In addition to the guidance it gives the posters, it also provides a set of guidelines which we expect the moderators to enforce in a fair and consistent manner.

Our intent is not to increase the moderators work load, but rather to create an atmosphere where posters exercise self-control, agree to disagree, and not act like spoiled children. Some of you may think that there is no way we can enforce these guidelines. You may say to yourself, “The moderators aren’t here enough to enforce it and will soon tire of spending all their time with warnings and banning people.” If those are your thoughts pay particular attention to item #3 in the “General” section:

"The Jaguars reserve the right to limit the accessibility of the message boards, to individuals and the entire message board community, for any period of time, as they see fit. "

If conduct on the board spirals out of control with the new COC we will put the board in a “read only” state for a period of time. Should we have to do this multiple times, each successive “read only” period will be longer than the last. Please understand this is not something we want to do, nor is it a threat. It is just the way the board will be run starting at midnight tonight.

Also please understand that these steps are being taken in lieu of shutting down the board, a step several other teams have taken. There have been several meetings over the past year to discuss that and these steps are being taken to ensure that does not become a reality.

Please take the time to read the new COC by clicking on the “Code of Conduct” link on the top right of this page. It goes into effect at midnight and pleading ignorance to its contents is not an acceptable excuse for violating it’s guidelines.
