You get the usual shouts, However this is not the case for a Steelers game. They come here rowdy and in large groups. All in all we treat our opponents much better then we are treated elsewhere.

RE: How easy / hard to sell unused tickets ?

"My recommendation to any "away" fan is to never get drunk, never get obnoxious and always take any mild comments with a pinch of salt."

Well said, altquark. The bleachers are really hard on the rear though !!!

Jacksonville is usually pretty good with fans, I haven't really seen anyone threatened in my section (106) although there are always some good natured comments being thrown across ! I would say the worst experience for me was going to Miami - I was barely able to get out of the dolphins stadium alive !!! Pittsburgh was awesome last year - we all had a great time as jaguar fans for that playoff game, though I heard that New England wasn't as nice. My recommendation to any "away" fan is to never get drunk, never get obnoxious and always take any mild comments with a pinch of salt. Beyond that - well thats what security is for. You should never put up with harassment no matter who you support.

We are all football fans. We all love the game.

RE: How easy / hard to sell unused tickets ?

No one has the right to harass others. Sorry to hear that happened to you. And not only is it inappropriate, but especially dumb for someone to behave in that way while a visitor where, presumably, they are outnumbered by home fans.

I did visit our stadium a couple of years back, during a summer intrasquad scrimmage. Seemed like a great place, with good views from everywhere and especially comfortable seating . ( Unlike those vintage bleachers at Lambeau ! )

I am looking forward to 08 and, like so many, expect great things from these Jags!

RE: How easy / hard to sell unused tickets ?
tbone586 (5/13/2008)
Hey, thanks for the info and advise, all! We are fortunate to be in a market like this, with a great team, and terrific stadium, with reasonably priced and AVAILABLE season tickets. With my second home in the JAX area, I thought it was time I started supporting this franchise. I will have to admit, there is one game where my feelings will be torn...I am also a Packers fan.
How are fans rooting for the opposition treat in our home park? One thing I always liked about Lambeau is that opposing fans are always treated well, though with certainly some "good natured" razzing reserved for the Viks and Bears fans. From what I read, our fans are generally good hosts to the visitors, is that true? (I will never attend a game in Philly again...those folks are animals!)
I went to the pre-season game at Lambeau and it was by far the best experience I've ever had as a visiting fan. The people were super nice.. we were stalked by one guy who wouldn't take no for an answer about meeting him after for a drink and some food. I'm sure he was fine but we had plans already.
Here I know in my section most people are fine as long as the visitors aren't harrassing anyone. No one around me starts anything with anyone. We have had some experiences though with visiting fans being antagonistic and insulting toward us and depending on how bad it is, I don't put up with it. I've had the worst experiences w/ Indy fans (hitting me in the head with towels, pulling my hair and spilling soda/beer on me), tack fans (downright rude and crude cracks about our players and our fans) and one set of Bengals fans (late teens/early 20-somethings who physically threatened an older woman who sits behind us).
Everyone probably has had their own experiences though and therefore different opinions..

RE: How easy / hard to sell unused tickets ?

Hey, thanks for the info and advise, all! People are looking to get in the building for the lowest price possible. With that being said, the person looking for a great seat with that cash means to purchase such a ticket is usually the person that likes to plan well in advance. Thus, the best way to recoup your investment for the games that you can't attend would probably be websites such as www.ticketliquidators.com and www.stubhub.com. I believe they keep a 20% fee but you can actually advertise now and leave them on the site up until gameday.

RE: How easy / hard to sell unused tickets ?

This year, it should be easier for fans to be able to sell their tickets. Aside from the fact we have an awesome team and have come off one of the best seasons on record, the ticketing is also now done through Ticketmaster. If you talk with the Jaguars fan services, they'll explain that season ticket holders will be provided with information on how to put unused tickets up for sale on the ticketmaster auction area. This information will likely come out when tickets are mailed. Not only that, but the cost for general bowl tickets also increases closer to game time - a season ticket in the top section might be $39 per game - but a single ticket in the same section will be sold at $55. This is good news for ticket holders that can't make all their games - but I really hope that you don't sell the tickets to steeler fans !!!!

RE: How easy / hard to sell unused tickets ?

Club seats are a little different animal b/c of the price but what I did (I am way out of state too- 1300 miles) is find someone to "partner with" on 2 of my tickets. We split them, 5 games each and we both have to take a pre-season game. We decide that first, then "draft" the games, alternating with me getting first pick as the owner. This works well for both of us.

I've also donated tickets here and there to various places sanctioned by the Jaguars and have given tickets to friends in Florida and to people who have helped me there (ex. the painter who did such a good job on my condo took his 14 year old son to a game and is still talking about it 2 years later. Good stuff).

I've sold them in front of the stadium too a couple of times (I have 4 also) and that's dicey. I did make a little on the Colts night game and pretty much broke even the other couple of times I had to do it.

There is nothing like Game Day and the sight of the stadium as I come over the Hart Bridge.

How easy / hard to sell unused tickets ?

Hi All - I am a new season ticket holder for the 08 season, and really looking forward to it! Because I am from out of state, I will need to sell more that half of the games for the season. How hard or easy is it to sell seats? To give you an indication of location, I have four in Touchdown Club - two in back row sec 235, and two in sec 134. (note - this is not a solicitation to sell...just want to get a clue about how easy or hard this is based on your recent experience). Can I count on face value or maybe a little more, after expenses?
Thanks!
