Concerns about upcoming PITTSBURGH game

Judging by the ridiculously high prices ticket holders are asking for the Jags-Steelers game, I have a feeling that the stadium will be packed to the gills with Steelers fans. Who in Jacksonville is crazy enough to pay those prices? I have a feeling if anyone buys those tickets on the ticket exchange and stub hub it will be visiting steelers fans.

Now, I must admit, I'm really regretting not purchasing season tickets this year, but I still want to go to that game, but I can guarantee i will not be paying more than $100 for a ticket to that game. I'm guessing Jags fans who are trying to sell those tickets don't care who they are selling the ticket to, as long as someone buys it, but I'm guessing Pitt fans are more likely to buy the tickets than Jags fans.

Any thoughts? My thought is that I'm kicking myself for not just buying the season tickets and instead deciding to buy my tickets individually the week before the game.

Why would anyone buy a broker ticket for double or triple value when they can still buy from the Jags club seats at normal price????? Many of the prices at online brokers are higher....

There appears to be a fair amount of tickets available online.... I think some Steeler fans may have decided that this may not be their season and not show up in the quantity some fans who are tying to flip their tickets expect.... The fact that the Jag ticket office has anything is a sign of that...

What is up with the Ushers standing in the way?

The last two home games the ushers have been standing at the top of the stairs what is up with that. I have two season tickets at 437 g1&2 and i even purchased an additonal ticket this year. I had to coplain twice yesterday and was not the only one to coplain about the ushers standing at the top of the stairs blocking my view of the game. Who is the best person to complain too about this.

Issue with trying to sell my tix

Hubby is going on a business trip and has to leave Sunday affternoon of the Steelers game. We have 5 tix so I'm going to sell 2 to someone at work and wanted to try putting the other 2 back on the ticket exchange. We are seats 17-21 in our row so I click to put up 20 and 21 for sale but when I do it tells me "the selected seats cannot be posted together for sale."

WHY NOT? I see other seats in the same section a few rows lower that are for sale. I'm putting sequential seats up for sale. Anyone know what the deal is?

We can call them REAL FAN sections. This way if you buy tickets in that section you have no cause to whine about the people who actually enjoy the games.

NEZ has been invaded and is no longer routy, it is quite lame.

Since I wont be able to go to a lot of games, figure Ill try to sell my tix. anyways just logged on to My Jaguars Account and put my Falcons tix up for sale.

Kinda interesting, there are 5 regular season games that are prohibited from sale at this time. Bills, Texans, Titans, Browns, and Vikings. potential blackout games i think we can safely assume. goes to show you how much of a "rivalry" the jags fans think of the Titans game.

anyways it seems kinda cool. get to post your price and if they sell, you can save that money for playoff tix or next years season tix. gotta think though for a game like the Steelers, best bet would be to go on Ebay or something. set the price real high and just watch it go higher.

I was taking a look at the projected 2009 schedule.... It has Buffalo and Miami plus an AFC West team along with the Cards and Rams ( the last team to make a trip to Jacksonville during the regular season... They were the first opposing team to play in JMS as they played the Jags in the first preseason game played in our new stadium)..... Those and our division opponents.

With that schedule, we won't have much help from non-Jag fans or brokers to sell out the stadium...

A big year will get the bandwagon fans fully on board and a better economy will help. I hope the ticket office is looking ahead....

Buying tix at the window

Hey I have a question.

Is the primary advantage of going to the ticket window that the person helping me can see which tickets are available for each section easier than what is available online?

Lets say for example, I wanted two seats in the 70 dollar section of the 400s badly for the Browns game. Wold it be easier (and quicker) for the ticket people at the window to see if one of those seats were available than if I were to attempt the same thing online?

Do they have access to another database, with quicker seat availability information than what is available online??

This is my first year being a season ticket holder. 4 seats in section 409. In the past I have attended games with other season ticket holders and they mentioned some of the Jaguar Rewards. Can you explain the reward that goes with Gate? What is your favorite reward?

I am also having trouble finding information on the Jaguars website about the rewards program. Does anyone know what is going on with the link jaguars.com/rewards ?

With the Vikings in the Teal Pack, if he indeed jumps to the Vikings, I wonder if that will sell out the Teal Pack.... The Black pack just has Yellow and Club Seats left in pairs where as the Teal has a way to go....

No idea what the ticket situation is now but there appears to be no availability for ticket pairs at least on Ticketmaster in the 100 and 200 levels except club seats....

I have tried to contact ESPN about revising their totals for attendance % on their website. I have read several articles that have stated, "the Jaguars were last in the league in % of stadium filled."

The problem is they are basing their facts on a stadium of 73,807. The stadium capicity was changed in 2005 to 67,124.

2005: ESPN reports Jags 29/32 teams in capacity seats sold with 89% sold. Actuality: 20/32 with an average attendance of 65,689, 97.8% sold.

2006: ESPN reports Jags 31/32 teams in capacity seats sold with 90.6% sold. Actuality: 17/32 with an average attendance of 66,858, 99.6% sold.

2007: ESPN reports Jags 32/32 teams in capacity seats sold with 88.5% sold. Actuality: 18/32 with an average attendance of 65,301, 97.3% sold.

Someone needs to change this perception and give them the true numbers. I have tried but to no avail. Here is the website:

Last year My Dad and I purchased 2 "Mini-Paks". I wonder if they will be running that deal again this season. I thought it worked out great. We were on a limited Budget, but we wanted to contribute the best way possible, so we went with the Mini-Pak.

Ticket Prices

I have been a season ticket holder 11 out of our 14 years (lived in Miami 2000-2003). I am not one to b*tch and moan about prices of the tickets. I have excellent seats, section 102 row W and pay $580.00 per seat, so I find value in that. I also won't moan about paying high prices for concessions, that's the entertainment business. A coke also costs $5.00 at the movie theater.

However, the cheapest single game ticket to the game is $50.00! That is a lot of money compared to many of the NFL teams. It's been raining today, so I decided to do a search on some other sites. This is what I found:

Cheapest single day tickets,
Texans: $30.00
Titans: $36.00
Colts: $34.00
Panthers: $51.00
Dolphins: $31.00
Chiefs: $41.00
Chargers: $54.00
Minnesota: $15.00!!! Can you believe that?
Cards: $25.00
Raiders: $36.00
Falcons: $25.00
Rams: $40.00

I do wish the Jaguars would make their cheapest tickets more affordable. I don't understand how or why our cheapest ticket is $20.00 more than the Texans, $16.00 for Colts or $14.00 more than the Titans. That's just me though. Once again, I love my tickets and and would pay a higher price if it meant that we could lessen the price of some of the nose bleed seats and get them filled.

Yes purchased and paid for with ticket but not in package i have left a voice message still have not heard back yet from ticket office. i am sure just like last year pass was not printed in time to put in package despite what the enclosed letter states.

This is something that I did last year. I asked everyone in my office if they could donate money to help deserving kids go to the Jaguar games. $5, $10, or $20 isn't that much, but if you have 20 people donating it can add up. Last year I got about $200 or so and I'm going to bring it up in my meeting this Tuesday. Anyways if enough people did it on this board then we could raise a substantial amount of money. Ask your friends, family, co-workers. Most will give at least $5. We have to do more and over achieve as a fan base. Dig down deep and go that extra mile.

Another thought for ticket donations

I was thinking about season ticket donations when this thought came to my mind. What about donating season tickets to former season ticket holders? Here me out first. We had a season ticket renewal rate of around 84%, why did the 16% not renew? I bet when the Champions Club people are calling they are finding out that some of the people have been hit hard by the economy. This is where a donation could help our former loyal season ticket holders. We already know they are die hard Jaguar fans because when the Champions Club calls they would ask why John and Mary Smith are not renewing after being a 5 year season ticket holder for example. Well the Champions Club could get a list together of non renewals and give the tickets to them. Maybe base it on seniority. This way hopefully next season they will be in a better financial situation and would be touched by their Jaguar brothers and sisters helping them through. I bet next season they would be chomping at the bit to get tickets and they would still have priority ticket status. Lastly I think any donation of tickets by us is great no matter who it goes to. But if you think this would be another good option, I will give the Champions Club a call in the next few days and maybe we can get a paypal account for it. Thoughts?
