| Right now the defense does suck. Look at the stats if you need that type of validation, or simply open your eyes during a game. They're not good. They will certainly get better at some point, but even before the rash of injuries, this defense wasn't exactly striking fear in anyone. There's something lacking from last year.

Our Defense does suck and it does look like the defense from the playoffs and it isn't improving from the playoffs. I liked what the Jaguars Defense did in the 2nd half against the steelers. I'm hoping to see more of that. |

Did you notice they weren't blitzing?
This defense is the same as last year for the most part and was supposed to be better at DE, CB, S, and the LBs would be a year older and smarter. The problem is this defense is not great. The LBs can't cover the middle, the CBs don't pass the WRs well to each other, and there is no pressure. Last year was the same, except Smith was a genius at hiding it. He made the offense make the mistake and the defense took advantage of it.

Some other key notes to add would be: We lost Marcus Stroud, which was stupid. Rob Meir will never be what Marcus Stroud was. Don't fool yourself. Reggie Nelson has missed 2 games. Drayton has missed some time. Derrick Harvey has only played 3 or 4 games in his NFL career. Quintin Groves is a 3-4 Linebacker. Brian Williams moved to Safety. Justin Durant is a 1st year starter. And last but not least, Will James.....should I say anything about him.....

were a young defense now that is trying to get back on track but, these young players need time to progress in their roles.
Notice we got rid of the veterens like Terry Cousin and Aaron Glenn... we're trying to stay young. and sorry to say this, but Mile Peterson will be next. |

were not a blitzing team than , we need to play like we played in the 3rd Qtr against steelers... if we can play like that, than we're pretty dam good  |

| Wasn't the Colts defense really bad in the beginning of the season the year they went to the Super Bowl? They turned it around that year IIRC. We can do the same if the guys get come confidence this week and get motivated.
