I came on here the day before the game and said I hope special teams plays good.  He muffed an onside kick, missed a FG, and barely.....and I mean BARELY sneaked that 1 field goal through.  He better tighten up.

newsflash to you.

Scobee isn't very good.

So 92 percent FG ratio last year  (tops in the league) isn't very good?  Top 5 in most kick off averages is not very good?  Newsflash to you:  Making things up doesn't make you look smart.

Just like you embellishing.

Scobee played what? half a season last year? LOL @ the "tops in the league" garbage. Tops in the league is only for kickers that actually played a whole season.

I remember hen the Jaguars used to have Mike Hollis as Kicker. I NEVER felt like he was going to miss. He was confident & never wavered. His kicks were usually right down the center. Hollis never seemed intimidated by an important kick like Josh CRAP MY PANTS BEFORE ANY IMPORTANT KICK Scobee does.

I wish we had a kicker like Mike Hollis again.

And a GM that knew what he was doing.....as Hollis, i.e. better Kicker than Scobee, was got as an undrafted FA, wheras Scobee was what a 5th rounder.

Hollis = value, as well as good kicker.

Hollis had a career average of 80% and a long of 54

Scobee career average is 79% and a long of 53

Hollis was a good, solid kicker but never had scobee's leg strength. Hollis missed his share of chip shots and extra points... Who else you going to put out there? Nugent and gostowski are both not as good as for high rated kickers the past few seasons and nobody in FA impressed me over Scobee either... He is a legit NFL kicker, I hate the missed easy ones two, but I thought he made that one today...

So because he was hurt for half a season 92 percent is not good?  Stating factual stats is not embellishing.  Gross generalizations and over the top half truths are more your style.  Stay away from stats, they usually make your threads disappear when they are presented.

On a funny note:

Did you see when Nelson went down?  They were walking towards the bench and almost ran over Scobee who was sitting there?  It was kind of a funny looking "Get the hell out of the way kicker" moment.

The Special Teams was awesome today.   I even liked the onside kick.  It was kind of cool how scobee was acting like he was giving instructions and rallying the guys and then ran and kicked it right fast to try and catch them off guard.

He never gave the guys a shot at the onside kick.  He didn't kick it far enough, which was a huge mistake.  I jumped off the couch, screaming all in his face after that one.

I'll give him a mulligan though.  I just hope he makes good kicks for the rest of the season.

I still love Morten Anderson!

yeah he looked shakey.. can't blame him on the onside though, those are almost totally about luck. if teams could hit a good onside kick every time there would be no such thing as a kick off.

Though I agree that an Onside Kickoff is a low % play in general,     some Kickers are more skilled at it than others.    Olindo Mare comes to mind.    Mare has a gift in this regard,   though I'm sure plenty of practice has enhanced his performance level as well.

My guess is Mare's Onside Kickoff success % is at least 2 times higher than the league average.    Maybe even greater than that.     Even many of his Onside Kicks that the receiving team recovers are diffcult to handle.

Where were you when Ian Eagle clearly stated the missed field goal attempt wasn't reviewable? CBS cameras showed it forward and backward several times. You must be blind and deaf to believe that kick could be reviewed and called good.

Jack DID challenge a call that the runner was short of the goal line. He lost it - and a timeout, of course. The first replays showed the ball was on the goal line but the referee saw something else - a knee on the grass. Could losing a challenge give him second thoughts about throwing his red flag again?
