I don't have a prediction for this storm yet.. but rest assured - when I have one - you all will be the first to know.

Experience is a hard teacher because it gives the test first and the lesson later.

The latest models from one of the better sites:

http://euler.atmos.colostate.edu/~vigh/guidance/northatlantic/track_early2.png

What this doesn't show is a trough of low pressure that is expected to move east, potentially bringing Ike back in a north-east path next week. That could potentially put it into our backyards, via the gulf side.

Another backdoor hurricane. But it would be far less destructive than a direct impact.

New track: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_at4.shtml?5day#contents

If you check the forecast models, none of them have it hitting the Florida, aside from the beyond-5 day chance it hits the panhandle. It looks like Mobile or (gulp) New Orleans.

Had I started in 2003, This team would have seen a SB by now.

Starting from right now, with the team in it's current state, I could have this team in a SB within 2 years/ seasons.

Another swing and a miss it looks like.  Maybe the weather channel can have a panel to tell us how "lucky" we are again.  Seriously though who told these hurricanes that New Orleans was the place to be.  These hurricanes are like hipsters flocking to the latest ironic place to be seen.  Apparently NO is that ironic place these days.
