Alfie (8/26/2008)

I guess it's just a coincidence he usually disappeared or was "battling an injury" in big games....

So True !!!

SLATON!? SLATON?! YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT SLATON?! DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT SLATON!

Stewart gets my nod.

CJ from the ticky tacks would be my best second guess.

K. Smith would be my third.

I don't think anyone other than the rookie RB's (of this class) have a chance at being ROY

I'm not insane. I'm Mr. Kane.

QB Matt Ryan may have a chance.  I know Atlanta is not great, but Ryan has a chance to be good this year.  Stewart and CJ also get my vote though.

Felix Jones+ Dallas O line= OROY

Not with Marion Barber there eating up 75% of the carries.  Barber is going to be a beast this year.  Chris Johnson from Tenn has a better chance to get more carries and have a MJD type rookie year.  Rushing, receiving and returning.  Jones will be good when he does get the ball though.

I think the point was to see who's gonna be the stud and Jones is gonna be a beast when he gets his 25% of the carries. I don't think he sees enough action to get OROY however but the dude has skills.

Reggie Williams + David Garrard = 10 TD's!

I agree.  I was just debating what the other poster said about him being OROY.  No way that happens unless Barber gets hurt and is out a while.

I'm not going to go through Slaton's whole college career.....I've already proven that he just doesn't disappear in big games like you suggested and I'd like for you to find another back that consistently produced as much as Slaton did throughout his college career......he was a TD machine every year that he was in college and in theend that's all I care about. I honestly think Houston has a smaller, but faster DD on thier hands, Slaton is going to be a solid back in this league. I'm not saying he's going to be the best back in this draft, but he will flourish in this system and will become one of the biggest steals of the draft.

One game doesn't prove anything. He disappeared in a lot more big games than he showed up for.

I'm counting 1 big game, in his first season.

Del Rio was right!

Wait until he plays a big game. He'll probably disappear, like he did in college.

204 rushing yards in the Sugar Bowl.....

The kid has looked solid thus far. He doesn't have the top end speed of Chris Johnson (still has homerun speed), but he has the initial burst and quickness. He has also shown very good vision ans is the only back that can find the holes that we're making right now (since our line only cut blocks against opposing teams and not in practice it's still a work in progress). He'll probably end up the starter very early on.

P.S.

don't want to hearabout the"only cutblocking against opposing teams".....no team would cut their own players.

How'd he do in big conference games with national title implications?

vs. USF: 15 for 54 yards
vs. Pitt: 9 for 11 yards
vs. Louisville: 17 for 60 yards

Slayton had a knack for disappearing in big games in college.

So the Sugar Bowl is not a big game..(set the alltime Sugar Bowl rushing record)..okay whatever.

As for last year, Slaton was battling a hamstring injury.....it's the reason he fell in the draft and the reason why he was losing carries to Noel Devine.

I guess it's just a coincidence he usually disappeared or was "battling an injury" in big games.

Oh, aside from the Sugar Bowl. What other games? I mean, if we all want to hang on games in a players 1st year in college...

alfie is a bad judge of talent buddy

Rashean the I-N-T Machine Mathis- best CB in the game
TMD's "predictions" so far for 08 season:
-Minnesota and Philly in the NFC championship game with Minnesota in the Superbowl
-Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game
-Houston a top 5 rushing team in the 09 season
-Houston seeded higher in the playoffs than the jags
- jags finishing 9-7 at best
- Browns finish better than the Jags
-Jags finish last in the AFC South after a bad showing in the preseason
TMD and I have a bet for $100 on the Jags wins
-Denver winning the AFC West LOL
-Bengals over Jags 24-21
