| | This is our 1st year with the Wii. Previously we only had the DS & Gamecube Madden Football. Anyway, did anyone have Madden 08 and now Madden 09 on Wii ? Just wondering what the updates are and your thoughts on Madden 09 Wii. Good news: Drayton Florence picked Derek Anderson and returned it for a TD. Great pick up Shack !!! Bad new: Freddie T and Brian Williams suffered injuries vs Browns.

| | HURRICANE!!! I have both 08,and 09. The Graphics are very improved in 09,game play with the Wii as usal is Awesome. The online play is very much improved. I don't have the time today,but i will later,i want to play you sometime in 09. Well have to get each others names for Madden,and set up a time we both can play. Are you up for it? I played 1 game online,and lost. Also if we played againest each other only problom we'll have is who takes the jags?

| I have had both 08 and 09 for the Wii. I am not pleased with it. The updates:
Online Play has been improved
5 vs. 5 was introduced, a terribly unusual and unnecessary component of the game. It's an inane backyard skirmish which eventually leads to frustration with the underwhelming AI. It was far less enjoyable than anticipated, and the enlarged heads were mostly just a distraction. The AI was poor, the game was just not even entertaining to me.
Minimal Graphic Updates
Roster updates
All-Play Mode, an oversimplified version of Madden (apparently pointed at the [sarcasm] largely growing and important 4 year-old gaming demographic [/sarcasm]) which left me dazed and confused for much of the controls.
Thats about it.
The PS3 and XBox versions of the game have matured far beyond the silliness that is Madden 09 All Play for Wii. Though I understand that the Wii is family friendly, that doesn't mean the Madden franchise should be dumbed down so that Grandma can take a run at the Super Bowl. The controls are often too hard to differentiate between (An attempt to swat the ball away often ends in a diving tackle and a terrible pass interference call), and the All-Play setting is a mediocre upgrade. The need for this new version of Madden is negligible beyond the roster updates. I am ashamed at Madden for turning one of the most prestigious football game franchises into a childish waste of time.
EDIT: If you have any questions, I am willing to answer. I am an avid Madden and Wii gamer.

| I love the Wii but Madden just sucks on it.
Madden 08 had none of the features that even Madden 06 on PS2 had.

| I think its a hug improvement this year. I'll admit it is a little cartoonish for a football game,and the Mii refs are odd,still better online play then last years. Theres always room for improvement.

| No offensse to other systems,the one thing Wii does that the others don't in Madden is make you get off your arose,and play the game. At least it does me.

Regardless, the question he posed wasn't to point out the differences between different consoles but different versions of Madden for Wii. And in that regard, 09 is a failure of an upgrade compared to 08.
