A topic was brought up about when was your first Jaguar game.  After reading the replies, I am curious as to how many of us original season ticket owners are left.  Does anyone know?

Too bad the price of experience is getting old!

I was down at the stadium a couple of years ago years ago and posed that questioned and was told their was about 25,000 original and continuous since day 1 season ticket holders. I don't remember which employee I talked with (they were in the ticketing dept. ), but they seemed pretty sure of the info.

I don't know whether I'm shocked or surprised that there are only around 25,000 of us left, but I'm glad I am part of original pack.  It would be interesting to see the actual figure though.

"We're just blessed to have another opportunity, to be on the same field as the New England Patriots," running back Maurice Jones-Drew said in a slow, drawn-out, tongue-in-cheek fashion. "Tom Brady is my idol. He's from the Bay Area, dates supermodels. He's everything a kid wants to be."

Defensive end Paul Spicer even jokingly offered to let the Patriots borrow his digital camera if they wanted to take snapshots of Jacksonville's defensive signals.

"We are confident," Spicer said. "It's us against them. They're 16-0, they're wonderful, they're great. But the bottom line is they have to beat us Saturday. Until that happens, we're 1-0 and they're 0-0."

I read somewhere there are 5,000 season tickets account left from the inagaural year. I'm not sure where I read that though.

However, that doesn't take into account someone like myself who was a ticket holder in 1995 and held them through the 1999 season. I moved to Miami in 2000 and had to give them up but moved back in 2003 and have had them every since.

So, I'm not sure how many have them now that had them in 1995.

The base of original season ticket holders is still above 25k according to an interview that Ketchman did with Tim Connolly a little while back.  As one of those 25k, there's a great deal of pride taken in knowing that I've been there from the start.

I think we both might be right.  I think there are slightly more than 5,000 season ticket accounts, which may equal to be 25,000 actual seats.  I know on my one season ticket account, I have two tickets.  On my company's one account, we have 10 tickets, which we've had since day one.

We received a letter in 2005 or 2006 from Wayne Weaver stating we were one of the remaining 5,000 original season ticket holders and thanking us. I remember at the time being amazed at that number.

To take this a step a step further, how many of the original season ticket holders have been to every game?

I have been to every game (preseason, regular season, playoffs) except one regular season game in 2004 against the titans.  I was given free tickets to the Ohio State / Michigan game in the horseshoe that year and couldn't get back to Jax in time the next day.  Hard for me to pass that up.

Yeah, I think that's probaby covering accounts because I got the same letter (2005).  I seem to recall during a Champions Club meeting prior to the 2006 season that Tim Connolly indicated that there were between 20 and 25k.  I'm assuming he was referring to individual seats and not accounts.

To answer the question in the post above, I've never missed a home game, pre, regular, or post season in the history of the franchise.  I thought I was going to miss one in October of 97 because it was the day after my daughter was born. We had so many visitors at the hospital that my wife ordered me to go to the game because I was useless at the hospital, pacing and trying to watch the pregame show on TV.  I made it just in time for kickoff.

Yep, it would make more sense if they are recognizing accounts, rather than tickets. I mean, if, like my neighbor, started with 10 tickets but reduced them to 4 as his children left the home he would still be an original but not an original 10.

I think too, the military presence in our town has a significant impact on legacy season ticket holders. The younger military members are more transient than the older ones.
