Ask an unemployed Massachusetts librarian what s/he thinks about this.
Considering the sheer number of illegals presently in the country, It crossed my mind that an incoming bureocrat admin type could be pushing her out to make way for a cronie. MA is not noted for vigilante style deportations.

Probably true- half the people on the Massachusetts payroll are related to Billy and Whitey Bulger or are friends of the family.

I am against illegal immigration.

That said, we are speaking in a very cavelier manner about someone elses life.

A child needs its mother

A husband needs his wife.

Did this woman receive th SS# from her parents wthout her knowledge? Without knowing the facts, we are looking a bit silly here.

Try and remember, News articles are often sensationalized. I am for a bit of compassion in these circumstances.

But for the grace of God, go I.

Following your logic, we should just forget every law on the books.....

ANARCHY NOW!

Such a mind-numbingly knee-jerk reply. Where did he say that she should be allowed to break the law? He's just stating that he wants more facts so as not to jump to conclusions.

Had I started in 2003, This team would have seen a SB by now.

Starting from right now, with the team in it's current state, I could have this team in a SB within 2 years/ seasons.

Why are so many of you attacking the source of the story? And why are so many of you defending this ILLEGAL?

If any of us broke the law, guess where we'd be???? That's right, IN JAIL!

Why should this Illegal be any differant from us?

She commited a felony. She belongs deported. Because like I said earlier even naturalized citizens get deported for any criminal offense. And it doesn't mater if they are married to an American.

This is when immigration laws get fuzzy. This is wild to say the least. This woman has been in the United States for 20 years the only thing she has done wrong is basically use a stolen social security number. She has a family now and loves the American dream. I say they issue this woman a correct social security number and let her live her life here in America with her family.

OK then if you think she should be allowed to stay then what do you suppose the punishment should be for stealing a persons identity albeit a dead persons identity.I say lock her up for fraud and identity theft then see if she would rather stay hereor pack her s@#t and get out!!

People do things in desperate situations. A SSN is just a number assigned to a person. This Mexican woman is a person with God given rights to live where ever the heck she wants to live on this God given Earth. I think maybe if they want to punish her assign her to 250 hours of community service, I think jail time and deportation is a little extreme.

Pro-Humanitarian Rights!

So in your opinion, borders and state sovereignty should not exist. Immigration Laws should be abolished and anybody who wants to come here should be allowed to do so. Who's going to pay for all the poor illiterate people who will come expecting the government (taxpayers) to support them?

THIS IS CRAZY RAWR!

That's the only thing she's done wrong in your eyes?  So, being here illegally isn't doing something wrong?  Stealing someone else's identity isn't doing something wrong?  We should just turn and look the other way because she loves sapping off the United States now that she's gotten a free education out of us, and has established a life for herself?  And we wonder what will happen with our country in the future.  If you're one of our future leaders, shoot me now.

Got a gun?..

Anyways.. Who cares as long as she pays taxes..

If she came here when she was 3 I don't think she had a big choice in the decision.. do you?

So as long as she's paying taxes it doesn't matter that she's here illegally?  Great logic there.  Pure brilliance.

She didn't have a choice in coming here.  She has known all along that her status was suspect.  To try to portray this as if she's ignorant of the fact that she's using an illegally obtained social security number, and that she's blissfully ignorant of her status is blissful ignorance on your part.

There are laws on the books that she has violated, but I supposed that doesn't matter to you because you don't see this as impacting you.  However, her entire life has been a fraud perpetrated on the country, whether you're talking about the money spent to educate her, feed her, house her, clothe her.  She's done well for herself despite her status.  But, she's still an illegal alien.

Using ignorance as the defense won't fly.  If it did, I could claim I didn't know murder was illegal after going on a bloody rampage and you'd be just fine with that.

Suppose the SSN that she used wasn't a dead persons, but yours.  Would your opinion change?  Why?

Right.

But I expect the dead person whose SSN the librarian was using is getting along just fine without it.

If she knowingly used someone elses SS# she should be prosecuted for it.

These were never supposed to be used as a federal means of identification, (that's another issue) but it is most certainly fraud. I still believe, in this case, given the facts at hand, deportation is way over the top.

So should she have caught a cab and left when she was say.... 4?

Grant her citizenship.. or we can use even more money to deport her and send her through the system.

You say she costed us all of this money.. but it seems as though she contributed to society and lived a normal life. You or I don't know if she has paid taxes or not. I'd bet she has paid plenty in her time here.

Again, as long as she has paid all or even most of the taxes she was supposed to throughout her life - I really could care less.

She's here, she's been here, she should stay here. She's an American, IMO. No less American than my great grandmother was when he got over from Ireland. No less American than my other great grandfather when he got over from Italy.

So what if that was your wife?.. It's easy for you to sit here and demand she be deported, but what happens to her husband and son?.. Not to mention her when she lands in a country she has never truly known.

WWJD?

but I am not dead so it would affect me greatly as I am alive, but if I were dead I would not care the least amount if someone wanted to use my SSN. It is a just a material number assigned to my spiritually free being to try and control my consciousness.
