I like Forte. He seems like a very chill and humble guy.

I thought the same thing. He is a future Fred Taylor in character and ability and defiantly a smooth runner. Have a Great Season, Stay healthy Forte.

I thought the exact thing coming out of the draft. When I first got a good luck at that kid on tape, he reminded me a lot of Fred.

I'd say the young RB that reminded me most of Fred (A Young Fred) the past few years is Adrian Peterson. Same number , insane cutting ability, breakaway speed, toughness to bring down and propensity to get hurt.

Forte won't be very successful in the NFL, IMO. He's too tall/ lanky. Almost looked like a WR next to Mo Drew (as well as on Forte's highlight reel they showed).

I cannot see how Forte is going to be able to be an effective inside runner.

I agree.. anyone who says they see FRED TAYLOR in Matt Forte's running style.. uh.. has either not been watching Freddy T or not watched Forte.

They are no where near similar.

Fred's actually good.

And everyone said that MJD was too short. Although his height certainly doesn't help him Don't write him off just because he his tall.

I always come to my conclusions by careful, scientific observation.
But only if the results of said careful, scientific observation fully corroborate my biased opinion.

i hate when people compare Fred to any other back because most backs in this league are either fast or powerful and Fred is both.  Hes faster at 32yo then most of the rbs comin out of college

Short RB's actually have an advantage, as long as they have some bulk to them (for durablity), as they can be harder to see/ tackle.

There haven't been many tall, lanky, thinnish RB's that have been successful at the NFL level.

I thought Forte came off as snooty and smug. Maybe it was him being humble and laid back but it didn't seem that way to me.

I also believe he's too tall and lanky to be an effective running back in the NFL. He needs to put on some weight and not run too upright. If he lowers his pads, he can be effective. No matter what, he should add some bulk.

No more offseason! Football is back and life is beautiful once again!

Pleanty of RBs are well over 6'0 and I think Forte's jacket made him look skinnier than he is. He looked bigger on film.

David Garrard? Ive always liked him.

Yeah, I know that plenty of RB's in the NFL are over 6'0".....heck, Fred Taylor is 6' 1", but Fred Taylor has also been 225-235 lbs his entire NFL career. Plus, Fred doesn't have too much of an upright running style, either.

Forte looked that skinny on camera last night as well as the game footage. He also has the upright running style.

Like I said, I doubt Forte is all that successful in this league.
