| rollerjag (6/23/2008) Dan Dierdorf is usually effusive in his praise of the Jaguars, when warranted. I agree.

the one question I have from that game is... did Heath Miller get that 1st down at the end of the game? fault for getting into that situation in the first place...
No way he got the first down. He was about an entire yard short. Atleast that's what I think.

It was like this the rest of the game. And when Miller "Made" that first he was right in front of me and was a half yard away. Everyone went nuts which was all the jags fans in the stadium because the steelers fans were gone.
Let's Go Jags

Here are some thoughts I had after re-watching that game. - Justin Durant is going to be an All Pro linebacker. He was by far the fastest person on the front seven of either team and is a vicious hitter.
- The Steelers o-line was terrible and is only worse in 2008 after losing Faneca. I am looking forward to seeing Harvey, Groves, Spicer and company keep Big Ben on his back again.
- Northcutt is better than people give him credit for. He is a perfect slot receiver.
- I think I forgot how difficult it is for teams to tackle Taylor and Jones-Drew. They were terrific.
- The only thing that really bothered me was that it seemed the Steelers were only able to stay in the game because the Jaguars got away from their gameplan that was working. Same thing happened in the playoffs.
Here were my notes: * Faneca was holding Rob Meier the entire game and never got called once. Meier was man-handling him! It makes me laugh when I continue to hear rants about Barnes holding in playoffs on Garrard QB draw. If Barnes was a hold, then Faneca was tackling Meier. * Mathis, Williams and Nelson need to learn how to tackle! Sammy Knight was in on every running play. Made me wonder why we let him go so easily. * Our O-Line was outstanding! I will be surprised if we shuffle around Manuwai and Williams this season. They were tremendous. * Brent Hawkins had a great game. Two sacks and a pass deflected (even though it was deflected to TE Miller for TD). They had audio on sidelines and you could hear Big Ben ask where he came from? If Hawkins isn't going to make this team, the Jags better shop him around the league for '09 draft picks. * Spicer abused Marvel Smith. * Podlesh should have stayed home, including two botched holds on xtra points. That kept Squeelers in the game. |

| They let Sammy Knight go because I am faster than he was even when he was in his prime.
