| | Now, I'm not going to buy into the Ed Reed comparison's just yet, but this guy has some pretty incredible physical talent. The biggest thing I saw him last year was his ability to tackle. Especially being a rookie, I was surprised at how many times he was pretty much run over by the ball carrier, only to then realize he never let go of thier legs and down they went. Considering last year was such a poor tackling year for our Defense, it was nice to see for sure. http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080527/SPORTS/805270333/1002/SPORTS Now apparently, he's actually comfortable? Anyone else a little excited aboutt his? The guy came in last year as a rookie and played incredibly at the SS position for us... and now he's going to be even better, smarter, more relaxed? Mike P is unfortunately going to be leaving us in the next couple years. Who knows... if Henderson can get this young guy more vocal as he wants, this may just be the new leader of our Defense. Kinda like our own Bob Sanders (though the comparisson's to Sanders are not yet warranted imo) Thoughts?

| | He's a FS. Some of the hits he put on guys were amazing. I know the one at home (where he got the penalty wtf!?) later in the year against....Carolina I think...was just raw. With experience he's going to be even more of a beast than he was last year.

Nasty hit and I thought the call could've gone either way. But you need that kind of message to come across to the other team...we're going to punch you in the mouth and see if you can take it. That's why I love the Jags.

| | Annnnd yes... FS... wow... good job Diz. lol. The 5 picks don't hurt either. I was hyped about him from the moment we picked him, and thankfully he didn't dissapoint. I think the year he spent back there with Sammy Knight helped him quite a bit. Knight may not be that physically talented, but I give him credit for being a pretty smart safety. I think Reggie learned a lot from him, and now apparently he is passing that knowledge down to Williams. I get giddy thinking about Florence, Mathis, Williams, and Nelson as our DBs. (And yes, Williams swapping to CB for the nickle package w/ Sensebaugh or however its spelled coming in at safety). That's been one of the biggest weaknesses we have had for a while is our DBs and this year is starting to look like we might be in good shape.

| I sat in the front of the South End Zone when Joseph Addai broke through and Reggie was the only line of defense left. Addai put a sweet move on Reggie but Reggie stuck with him and brought him down. Right then I realized there's a reason why he's out there as an NFL player and I'm sitting here posting messages.

| That's exactely the kind of plays I am talking about. The guy don't quit on a play. he doesn't do that lame 1 armed half-attempt to look like I am trying to tackle him stuff.

| One of the things about R. Nelson that I can't believe goes unmentioned, is that he was probably the premiere athlete in the 2007 draft. Now that does not exactly translate to premiere football player, but it does speak to what his abilities are.
R. Nelson has all of the physical abilities in the world. While he may lack bulk, he has everything else that an elite Safety needs to be an All-Pro type of player.

| | Hopefully he'll come back 5 or 10 lbs. heavier. I do agree, btw, that he had a good season for a rookie. His athleticism makes him fun to watch. He has the ability to play CB.. that speaks for how athletic he is at FS.

| Well, you don't want him to bulk up too much. He really doesn't have the frame for it. If he gets too heavy, it could hurt his speed, and that, in my opinion, is one of his best assets.

| 5 lbs. isn't going to have any dramatic effect on somebody that athletic.
