| Jagwired'd (5/19/2008) I remember reading that can someone post a link? Jagwired'd , if Derrick Harvey would have lasted to pick # 11, it's safe to assume the Bills would have given Harvey serious consideration. Harvey not only would have filled a need for the Bills but would have given them value with the pick. Leodis McKelvin also fills a need for the Bills. Yet, if Harvey was available, my guess is he would have been the pick. The Bills use the Tampa Two Defensive Scheme as their base. A preferred focal point of this scheme is to generate pressure w/o the aid of blitzes. IMO, the value that Harvey would have provided the Bills would have been too good for them to pass up. Especially since the Bills didn't have a need in their return game. If the Jags didn't trade up for Derrick Harvey, my guess is the Bengals at # 9, Patriots at # 10, Bills at # 11, and Panthers at # 13 would have had Harvey at or near the top of their board. One thing that's certain is that if Harvey some how lasted to pick # 15, the Lions were going to draft him. I had very little hope that Harvey would be available with that pick. Regarding the Jags, they made a sensational trade with the Ravens, getting the opportunity to draft Derrick Harvey. Even 23 days later, I'm still amazed that Baltimore would give up pick # 8 at a substantial discount price.

| Duane Brown was not a reach for Houston. 1st of all, Alex Gibbs recommended him, because he fits his scheme perfectly. For some reason few people acknowledge/ understand this. 2nd of all, Houston did not have a second round pick due to the Schaub trade, and Brown would likely not have lasted to Houston's 3rd rounder - so if they wanted him they pretty much had to take him where they did - and trading down from 18 to 26 netted them extra picks anyway.
Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!
