prime winner (4/25/2008) Merling, Clemson DE, or Groves if Merling not availablle1010XL has a hard on for Groves and Merling. I think it was Arley talking about trading up to 17ish to get Merling and T-Mac saying he could see us moving to a 3-4 if we took Groves. Huh? What? Do we have the people to run a 3-4? I know we have 4 great Linebackers and it looks like a Jerrod Mayo or a Quinten Groves will fall to us at 26. Plus we have a couple of DPR's in Smith and Hawkins. So I know we have the 4 part. But what kind of people are need to be the 3 part? Most that I have seen have a huge short stocky DT in the middle and that's not John Henderson. I am guessing Spicer , Meir and landri might be pretty good in the 3. Can someone who knows more about the 3-4 explain this to me. I only know the 4-3 thats what I played in high school. |

| | arguably the most important part of the 3-4 is the nose. as you said a short squatty guy that eats up space and blockers. we dont have anyone for that role. i think spicer and meier could play the ends in the front 3. personally I think our LBs are talented enough to play in any system... including the ILBs in a 3-4. The OLBs in a 3-4 are the guys too big to be LBs and too small to be DEs in a 4-3. think a guy weighing 250 with great speed. Hawkins would be better suited for that. i dont know where Henderson would go. i guess he'd have to be one of the ends but that would really wouldnt fit his abilities. And again, we'd need to get a nose tackle.

| I don't see any of our LB's shedding guards, which is what an ILB has to do quite a bit.

If anyone else was listening to the end of Mac and Ballou today, I was the guy who got the FAU question right... Nice. I figured it was either FIU or FAU. Couldn't remember which one Barnes was from.

I think it was Arley talking about trading up to 17ish to get Merling and T-Mac saying he could see us moving to a 3-4 if we took Groves. Huh? What? Arley knows nothing about any sports south of Boston. I cant stand Arley. T-Mac should know better. Change your D scheme for a so so DE selected late in round 1 ??? I was the guy who e-mailed in about people shutting up about the 3-4 and T-Mac claimed he thought we had 3-4 backers. What? Who's the ILB? Daryl Smith and.. and.. and.. ? The OLB's? Hawkins and B. Smith? Right... Arley's show is awful. I try to listen to it since the national show on 930 sucks... but I just can't. I'd rather listen to dead air. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Washington take Campbell, IIRC their DLine coach was his coach his Sophomore year. Arley's show is awesome. Signed, Fight Night with Terry Norvelle
