| | How far do these two players fall? I could see Aqib Talib falling out of Rd 1 but not to the Jags in Rd 2. I could see Mario Manningham falling out of Rd 2 but not out of Rd 3. |

| Calvin Johnson and Amobi Okoye admitted to smoking marijuana before last year's draft. They both went top 10. Talib will still be a first round pick, likely before the Jags draft. Manningham will likely slide further.

| Well CJ came out from the beginning and admitted it. its not like Manningham who lied to everyone.

| How many college students are going to sit here and say truthfully that they never smoked weed? This is not a big deal, but it could cause them to slip a little. Now if they were dealing drugs that would be a real issue, but just the occasional recreational weed use is not that bad.

| | well if you are going to invest millions of dollars in someone, would you rather draft that guy that is a chonic pot smoker or the guy who isnt? if everything else is pretty similar, most teams are going to choose the guy that doesnt use illegal drugs. And then youve got Manningham who flat out lied to their faces about his drug use. so i could definitely see him falling.

well if you are going to invest millions of dollars in someone, would you rather draft that guy that is a chonic pot smoker or the guy who isnt? if everything else is pretty similar, most teams are going to choose the guy that doesnt use illegal drugs. And then youve got Manningham who flat out lied to their faces about his drug use. so i could definitely see him falling. Is the drug use just weed? I understand if its something else then they should definatly tumble big time. I can agree that lying about it makes it worse, but I am just not high on Manningham anyway. Also who is to say that only these 2 guys have smoked pot before in the darft. I know thats not true and I would bet the vast majority of them have so I wouldn't let this convince me to pick someone else over them unless they are higher ranked on my board.

I know thats not true and I would bet the vast majority of them have so I wouldn't let this convince me to pick someone else over them unless they are higher ranked on my board. i was watching that draft show on NFL Network yesterday and they mentioned this story. they were saying that most teams are under the impression that pretty much all of these kids have tried weed at least once in college. its just something thats part of the "college experience" so to speak. even if its just once. but the problem for Talib is the fact that he tested positive so many times... which suggests he does it all the time. and then Manningham obviously the problem was lying. and again with Talib, if youve got him rated similar to a few of these other top corners, and he is the only one testing positive for weed, thats just another negative which may bring him back from the pack. just one piece of the puzzle.
